What's The Deal With The Obelisk Core?

The Obelisk Core is a level 70-ish Crafting Ingredient, But what does it do?

I mean, -200% Ingredient Effectiveness to it's left and some durability is taken away, where's the benefit? This is a 3 star ingredient, same tier as ingredients like the Unicorn Horn, and the Doom Stone (which actually has a positive boost for ingredients next to it).

Why does it exist? to level us up? I've heard that a lot of lower tier ingredients is actually better to level up then one 3 star.

Someone, please, I am so confused,

It's even sold in the Trade Market, Like, who's going to buy that? it does NOTHING.

I just needed to vent, I mean, this has to be the only ingredient that's like this right?

The obelisk core can "flip" ingredients to the left of it in the crafting menu, making their negative IDs positive and vice versa.
