Blinds Are The Stupidest Window Covering And Don’t Deserve To Exist

okay, this is absolutely a venting post, but I’ve just wasted 30 goddamn minutes and a perfectly useful coat hanger just to try and get these fucking things unstuck and all I have to show for it is a broken set of blinds. Why the FUCK do they need to exist? They’re just shitty curtains that get stuck literally every goddamn time you need to adjust them. There’s nothing they do that curtains don’t and curtains don’t randomly jam themselves up. Blinds are fucking stupid and get themselves stuck more often than a fucking zipper on a two decade old jacket. Who the fuck decided it was a good idea to install these stupid fuckers in every goddamn house on the west coast? They don’t even look good; it’s a bunch of horizontal slants obscuring the view out the window. It’s like a shitty Prison, in shitty hell. Blinds are fucking stupid.

I never really had a problem with my blinds. Maybe yours were just old?

 

mine never got stuck, maybe once.
only thing i dislike about them is that they don't completely block sunlight, which is why im considering getting curtains.

 

I like the horizontal ones on windows, but the vertical ones i dislike

 

I can't stand the older styles which the thin, fragile slats that just get ruined whenever they get touched. Newer blinds are way better, but I still prefer curtains because they look nicer and block more light when I'm trying to sleep despite the streetlight right outside. I actually have both in my bedroom, because if I draw back the curtains I can still limit the light level, and I can shut the curtains if I'm trying to sleep (also that way it matches the rest of the house, which has blinds).

 

It's so peculiar seeing people talking about blinds on a Minecraft server's forums...

I recently saw a system of vertical blinds that has two cords, one to rotate the blinds and the other to compress them all to the side, like a curtain. If you want the best of both worlds, get that thing, buy now and get free shipping

Frankly I have to agree with you, blinds are just kinda useless and are such a hassle to maintain. They can get tangled together or stuck, and sometimes when you have animals they will mess with them until they break. Frankly I am more of a curtains guy myself.
