the terraforming and the trees are pretty terrible but I just threw them together in like 30s hhh


took a lot of inspiration from conqudisaitaodorbob with the buildstyle

 

Hey this first one has got to be one of your best houses to date, you've absoblutely nailed the detailing. Some small things are to just extend the second floor on the second house out to the side by just one more block. The roof still looks somewhat janky because its just too small especially for the second house.

For the second house it is aso quite weird how there is only one main blob for the body of the house. The first house has cylindrical towers to seperate the different shapes but the second house is just one loaf of a house so to speak. Try adding some points of intrest such as towers. Also try instead of using a mix of random blocks, try assign a "color" for each shape. For example, for the front cylindrical section you can use endstone bricks. While the rest of the house you can use sandstone. This helps section off your house and again seperates unique structural elements allowing them to enhance shape instead of all blending together.

As for the roof, you should ask Bob how to do the mega build roof thing for the roof of the second house. For refrence see Serenity estate's roof, its really hard to explain, he's going to have to show you. I dont know if he still does it but he taught me how to do it back in the day. Funnily enough while we were playing build battle of all things... and the theme just happened to be "house".

Also how's your builder app going? Guessing from the lack of largescale builds you got a promising?

Thats an unusually long time for a builder app but good luck!!

 

Yeah, I'm hoping it's because there are trials taking place and they only do a few at a time :)

 

By the way, do you have any really small nitpicks for those builds that could help me improve them? A few people I know dislike them and say they're disorienting, "like a lego set" and shit, but I honestly can't see any large issues with them, so it's kind of bothering me lol

 

I basically said all I had to say in the last comment, just build a little more. Also don't all minecraft houses look like a lego set unless its a megabuild?
