Is Mage Weaker Than Most Of The Other Classes, Or Am I Playing It Wrong?

Mage seems kind of weak compared to Assassin, Archer, and Shaman. Heal is cool, but not really necessary when pots exist? Am I just playing it wrong?

 

Mage is kinda weak in early levels because of its low dps but on later levels its quite good

 

It only has one spell that deals damage. Of course it's much weaker.

It's tankier, but considering you can just kill things faster and get things over with with archer, I dunno. It seems a lot easier to just take the archer route.

 

Mage's dps is limited by the fact that its main damage spell takes time to fall and actually do damage. It's basically guaranteed that you will get less dps than any other class. However, it makes up for it with great survivability and versatility in most situations with a pretty great movement spell.

There's no real wrong or right way to play a class, I believe, you just gotta find a play style that best fits you.

 

I wouldn't call Mage weak. Meteor is still a really good damage spell, the utility is great and melee option always exists. How far have you played the class?

 

Weak in what regard?

In my opinion, Mage has the best melee attack - a relatively long range, with a large area of effect. It has great utility spells, and not having to switch off of your weapon to regain health can be useful for various reasons.

On the other hand, the base damage of Wands is generally on the lower side. At low levels (until lv. 36), Meteor takes quite some time to fall, and combined with the limited mana and intelligence this could make Mage feel quite underwhelming. If you haven't done so yet, I'd suggest levelling your Mage further so you can experience what Mage is like lategame :)

Mage is arguably the strongest class; with a good build you can render yourself virtually invincible while still doing okay damage. You get lower dps than other classes, but you more than make up for that with the ability to recover from any damage taken with a few clicks.

 

The problem is that you’re not using lunar

 

I started off as a mage, and was very happy when I could 1 shot weak zombies at lvl 10.
Then I started a archer class...

Meteor can make up for it though, and heal spell is very useful. Tp and ice snake are good too.

In PvE situations, mage is very good. But in pvp, while sure, meteor is very high damage, it takes time to fall

 

I use mage quite a lot at level 100 because it is a fun class to use.

Teleport is good for flying

Heal is good because it makes you basically invincible (also I like it because I am a stupid gamer and like doing dumb/reckless stuff, like jumping off cliffs)

Meteor is decent one you get ice snake, because ice snake and then meteor makes hitting the meteor really easy.

Ice snake is nice because you can freeze things to run away/heal/meteor

 

I personally hate mage, but imo it's the most average class, pretty decent for new players

 

The main thing about mage is that it’s spell DPS tends to be capped because of Meteor’s travel time, so the play with Mage is usually to go hybrid IMO

 

Mage gets good in the endgame but until then you're definately the weakest class. Don't compare mage to archer though because archer is in my opinion the strongest class
