If people are paying others to do tasks in game and in real life with Wynncraft emeralds, dose that mean emeralds experience inflation? There's unlimited emeralds out there, so that means that the buying power with an emerald should go down, but sellers and buyers do not adjust their prices based on this. But, the amount of emeralds in circulation doesn't really change, so dose that mean Wynncraft has a stable economy? Emeralds have physical value behind them, so it's impossible for Wynncraft to create too much emeralds to ruin the value of the emerald. Mobs drop emeralds, and mobs re spawn, so there's an unlimited amount of emeralds in circulation. Wait, where do Mobs even get emeralds? If there's an infinite amount of mobs possible as they re spawn, that means there's an infinite amount of emeralds. But where do the emeralds come from? If there's an unlimited amount of emeralds from mobs, why don't they just make some sort of mob farm? Then, everyone would be rich. But then, that would lower the value of the emerald since there's an infinite amount of emeralds. Then, Wynncraft will have to switch to a new currencies that doesn't come from mobs or comes from chests you find.

This is very confusing for me.
    someone please explain.

Also while more emeralds get found, more mythics get identified ... thats the cause for stable prices. The only thing that gets less are buyers because there are too many mythics, legendarys... at the market

I haven't played for long enough to see any real inflation. However there seems to be enough "money sinks" in the game that I don't see inflation becoming any real problem. Trading on the market (as was said before) attracts a tax and these emeralds are just gone, identifying and re-identifying items also costs a significant number of emeralds. Upgrading powders costs emeralds, teleport scrolls cost emeralds. Let's not even get started on buying and upgrading horses. There seems to be enough things for people to dump their emeralds into (that then don't end up with another player) as to create a stable flow of "currency".

Currently in the mythic market we’re actually experiencing really bad deflation where no one has enough raw to pay for mythics which then leads to mythic trades. This has been due to:

    • The TM tax
    • Crackdown on duped le
    • Way too many mythics being found currently due to people having more time to lr (its the first summer where people have access to lq)
    • Quest rewards being nerfed

I don’t know how much the deflation will affect smaller trades but with big trades you start to notice that people are usually unable/unwilling to pay with raw le.

There is a huge inflation problem in Wynn, back in 2015 the most expensive thing were collectables that were worth a couple of stacks max, the endgame weapons were worth around 20le

Back in 2015 people were paying multiple stx for a good Aquarius or a 2/4 Concentration, everything was way more inflated back then because main quests gave wayyy too much LE and there weren't any big money sinks back then because rerolling and trade market weren't a thing.

Yeah, this is an interesting situation. I suspect eventually current prices will just dissolve into a puddle before people just start trading much lower.

Zodiac items weren't a thing until the gavel update tho.
The quests gave less le than they do now so inflation wasn't a big thing until gavel came out.

I find it odd that nobody mentions how emeralds and items are taken out of the economy when players leave the server.

While I have not been here for long I cant really say for sure but it looks like they did research into mmorpg economics based on the trade market having a tax and also horse breeding being a really good currency sink.

Horse breeding is terrible as a moneysink, it usually only takes up small amounts of le, a small portion of le of the usual player with some substantial wealth.

Also remember that while more emeralds are found, more players are also joining at a decent rate. Along with people quitting, this makes it so that the average balance of an average player may stay stable because the main source of emeralds, quests, is dependent on new classes.

Mythics a re a different story, as your average player usually doesn't have a mythic, the mythic market is mostly determined by richer players, or ones with a lot of time on their hands.
