Purge Of The Nine... Wybels

Wybels... They are smol, they are squeaky, they have floof and like to shed supernatural amounts of it in hot weather. Most wybels are cute, some are stubborn, (Honeydew) while a few are deadly. But what they all have in common: They are perfect subjects for certain ritualistic purposes, not practiced by many. For us, this is how the events unfolded...

"Bring them all to the city of this Stubborn One. Failure is not an option!" Spoke the prophet as he and his followers set out to gather the other eight strewn about the world. The task would not be easy. For some, they journey was short, though still fraught with peril from possible hostile travelers, but soon the room was filled with four...


There would be long journey for three: through forests consumed by decay or borne by light, past the plains of the greenskins and the City of White...


...Yet the Prophet's followers led them without casualty to the walls of the jungle's empire...


...and then there were seven.


...The remaining followers and the Prophet himself would guide the journey of the remaining two Wybels, through the skies of a land atorn. It was a trial with multiple failures and preemptive deaths of the subjects. The Prophet's fear of failing the Eighth Shadow loomed as daylight drained away, and the cost of mistakes grew with each passing step. This was a journey that he did not wish to recall, to speak of, to ever do again.

But soon enough...



...There were nine. This was the first recorded sighting of all the city-dwelling Wybels united in a single locale. However, it would also be the last, as this was not a peaceful gathering, but the site for a collective sacrifice. The Eighth Shadow sought tribute. It was hungry...

Spoke the Prophet as the deliverer of ends was drawn from its sheath, his followers observing in ghoulish delight as the weapon swung, sacrificing the nine to the Eighth...



...After it all, the Prophet, anxious and distraught from the burden of the task, lowered the deliverer and was embraced by his followers. The shadows were appeased, for now.

For real though, thanks to my fellow guildmates for participating in this silly event that was born from a discussion and memey tradition. Didn't think it'd be a real thing until someone recorded a Wynntils run for one part of the journey, then we knew we had to do it. Who would've thought sacrificing Wybels brought people together? This took three teams of people, an unnecessary amount of time and hours of prior planning and practice, as well as trying to get stubborn Honeydew out of Troms in practice to a convenient meeting place. His empty AI kept us from doing so. Even the most aggressive spellspam couldnt keep him from zooming right back to the Guards in both routes away from Troms, so we had to extend the routes to bring them all here XD

We thought this would be fun to showcase to the wynn community and be known for this very silly task. Though to the planners who are seeing this...

Pls don't make us do this again

this was a stressful but fun experience... somehow we did it first try

Honestly was expecting a 50/50 chance of the event flopping on the day we planned and having to postpone it and try again. The most feared obstacle ended up not being a problem; other players. Surely there are others who practice the sacrificing of Wybels, or perhaps have trigger-PTS from the Orange One, and at any point could have killed them during escort (or even worse, at the meeting place) causing a partial or complete reset to happen. This was a worry for me especially once Sky Team reached the wynn province. Oh if the team had to reset at that point...
