    Hello!

There's been an influx of "what's your favorite x" threads lately, but I'm hoping this one is a bit different. This time around, I'm ranking areas from best to worst for you, based on responses I received on an earlier thread of mine. In that thread, my fellow community members listed five of their favorite and least favorite non-town/city locations.

Now, based on which locations had the most votes for best and worst, I have ranked most of them. Keep in mind that not every area is included in this list. I ended up cutting some of the more unimportant locations such as Pirate Bay and Skien's Island. My criteria for a location being on this list was that it must do 2/5 of the following:
    • Be labelled on the map
    • Have 2 quests that take place here (As in, actual NPCs and quest stages are directly found in this area)
    • Have 4+ territories in this region
    • Connects 2+ towns, or has a dungeon/boss altar, or a location that you’ll frequently return to (eg. TOA or the Hive)
    • Has a popular grinding/lootrunning/gathering spot
This means that the Realm of Light isn't on here, but let's face it, it would end up near the bottom.

For every location, I used the following formula:

((# of players at the proper level to visit said area)/(# of people who listed it as their favorite area))-((# of players at the proper level to visit said area)/(# of people who listed it as their least favorite area))

This would get me a fraction, which I converted to a percent. I then ranked all percents from best to worst. However, this led to some ties. To break these ties, I would put whatever of the 2+ locations had more votes for "favorite area" at a higher ranking if the percent was positive, and whatever of the 2+ locations had more votes for "worst area" at a lower ranking if the percent was "negative".

Even with this system, there were still a few ties. Fortunately, I already had a thread that listed the results of a "what is your favorite area survey": https://forums.wynncraft.com/threads/updated-active-wynncraft-players-survey-results.235768/ Whichever location had more votes for "favorite area" on the thread I just listed, would have a higher ranking.

But even after using this thread, there were still some tied areas, but oh well.

    #43 - Maro Peaks
[Featured in 21 lists, was in the top 5 least favorite areas on 86% of those lists]
[Was considered the least favorite area by 18 different at-level players]
"Hate this place. Died so many times, caused so much stress, and the quests involved weren't even worth it. Need the dumb helmet. Doesn't even look cool." - MusicalCroissant
"you need to wear special helmets just to access these places. why" - Shilster
"requires quest helmet, mobs have pull/push spell on those 1 block bridges, annoying to get to" - btdmaster
"I manage to get lost here every time I make my way back from Baab, also the Maro's Eye Jewel took me a good hour to find. Can't go anywhere without being chased by sheep, or pelleted by those towers or Galleon's Graveyard guards." - Jelliee_

    #42 - Llevigar Plains
[Featured in 15 lists, was in the top 5 least favorite areas on 93% of those lists]
[Was considered the least favorite area by 14 different at-level players]
"The houses are pretty bland, doesn't really have anything interesting" - Dwicey
"sooooo boring, really bad quests and the atmosphere just sucks" - _Eth3real
"Boring. Doesn't even need to explain." - ghoti315
"I REALLY dislike this place. the quests are all the same besides star thief, there is literally no lore about it, and it's just SO GODDAMN BLAND. There's pretty much no landmarks beside the camps, but the camps all look the same anyways, which sucks because it makes them so annoying to go through when doing the quests. It is the wonderbread of areas." - Gambler of Gales

    #41 - Kander Forest
[Featured in 8 lists, was in the top 5 least favorite areas on 100% of those lists]
"Not sure if it's the builds or the hordes of mobs, but this place has always felt annoyingly cluttered." - WithTheFish
"I hate these mobs they always have high pitched hit sound and I hated the quests there, + the towns arent really safe so the whole area is always dangerous" - 99loulou999

    #40 - Rymek Mesa
[Featured in 18 lists, was in the top 5 least favorite areas on 72% of those lists]
[Was considered the least favorite area by 13 different at-level players]
"Similar to Lost Canyon, the Rymek Canyon gets you lost easily." - Techno Skylaar
"annoying to get around here. the quest here makes it a bit tolerable though. (on my first class i did tribal aggresion before the Svin quest though and i spent 2 hours just climbing up the cliffs so i hate this place i can NOT Believe ESI chose to own this garbage area" - Shilster
"Not much exploration. It's an area that you forget most of the time and never go back to." - KingChampion

#39 - Canyon of the Lost - Bantisu Region
This region encompasses the southwest portion of the canyon, featuring the Bantisu temple and the quest "The Lost".
[Featured in 13 lists, was in the top 5 least favorite areas on 77% of those lists]
[Was considered the least favorite area by 10 different at-level players]
"Compared to the rest of the Canyon, this area is for more labyrinthian, and also has many fewer places of interest. It's so far from any town too that it's hard to reasonably make trips out to here." - WithTheFish
"I have a dream that one day all harpies will be erased from existence" - Bleiiz
"CoTL is just really annoying to navigate, unless you are an archer or assassin, and somewhat as mage. I haven't done it as warrior as of yet, but I'm pretty sure it will suck, as charge has no vertical mobility" - Steampunk

    #38 - The Dark Forest
[Featured in 7 lists, was in the top 5 least favorite areas on 100% of those lists]
"Uninteresting, too many mobs, confusing layout" - MusicalCroissant
    "too gloomy" - FreakyEagle48
"It doesn't have anything special about it." - Emolga3

    #37 - The Savannah
[Featured in 7 lists, was in the top 5 least favorite areas on 100% of those lists]
"Boring, I barely stay in it for longer than 5 minutes" - Matteo_Games
"bad memory of getting destroyed by ocelots - also kinda bland area" - Justgrr
"There's not a single quest in the savannah itself, and it got completely passed over for discoveries. It's flyover country." - Gambler of Gales

#36 - Canyon of the Lost - Eltom Region
This region encompasses the northeast portion of the canyon, featuring the quest "Cowfusion".
[Featured in 6 lists, was in the top 5 least favorite areas on 100% of those lists]
"I cannot count the number of times I have gotten lost here and used /kill. Just no." - Techno Skylaar
    "I don't want to see Cowfusion again" - Emolga3

    #35 - Olux Swamp
[Featured in 8 lists, was in the top 5 least favorite areas on 86% of those lists]
"Not really a big fan of swamps" - Kusu
"Just not a very interesting place, except it's actually dull and is poorly designed map-wise. The Kander and Dark forest do the decay theme much better than Olux does. If Olux was just straight up deleted and replaced with a different area, we would lose 2 good quests. That's not the outlook I should have regarding a large place in Wynn. The worst part about the Olux Swamp is that there's really no way to improve it. It's very much a filler area, for the player to adjust to the looks of the Dark and Kander forests. However, the merit of those two quests and at least somewhat interesting mob design give it some merit." - GreenTheMeme
"Boring look, only redeeming quality is the Resource Tunnels" - Bleiiz

    #34 - Ice Islands
[Featured in 5 lists, was in the top 5 least favorite areas on 100% of those lists]
"Every single place in Wynncraft is notable. Every single place in Wynncraft, despite how goofy or horribly built some of them are, has significant lore. Every single place in Wynncraft, if it were to suddenly vanish, we would mourn over it, but not the ice islands. The Ice Islands offer absolutely nothing to the lore of the game. Humans landed on the ice islands a while ago and now they're fighting. That's not interesting at all! The Ice Islands are not even hilariously bad or poorly designed like the Void Valley. It's just bad, but not bad enough to laugh at. It's bland, poorly made, offers absolutely nothing to the world, and it could be easily replaced by something else and we would've lost nothing. Think about that, if the Ice Islands and its quest were to suddenly vanish, what would we lose? Ice climbing helmet? Screw the Ice climbing helmet, I always forgot to bring it when I did Temple of Legends and Reincarnation and I always hated it. The absolute worst part about the Ice islands is that there's nothing CT can do to improve it, apart from deleting it and replacing it with Skyrim." - GreenTheMeme

    #33 - Dernel Jungle
[Featured in 10 lists, was in the top 5 least favorite areas on 70% of those lists]
"The Trees look Amazing and i also like the Ruins" - Koni
    "too many mobs" - FreakyEagle48
"Grinding here is a pain in the ass and the grind spots aren't even good and Galleon's Graveyard Key Guardians do in fact exist. None of the quests here are good, maybe with the exception of Lost Soles but I have the code memorized so yikes, but at least most are inoffensive" - Shots

    #32 - Karoc Quarry
[Featured in 6 lists, was in the top 5 least favorite areas on 83% of those lists]
"Feels pretty pointless and is a nightmare to navigate." - WithTheFish
"Not much of a place you would really want to spend time in, as it only has 1 quest and is overall forgotten (excluding ???)." - KingChampion

    #31 - Mage Island
[Featured in 1 list, was in the top 5 least favorite areas on 100% of those lists. Due to being added to the voting thread late, technically 1/12 of eligible participants had it as one of their least favorites.]
"I am the one person who said this area is subpar. I'm sorry but there's no reason to return here once you've done all FOUR quests that have NPCs here, like seriously why do so many quests force you to travel here" - WithTheFish

    #30 - Lake Gylia / Gert Camps
[Featured in 9 lists, was in the top 5 least favorite areas on 69% of those lists]
"The Gert Camps and other Builds around the Area look quite outdated, i don't really like the way Gavel building were built using 'slab spam'" - Koni
"There are barely any buildings here, except for the farms, the two houses and the watch tower, also the gert camp is basically only used twice ever" - Matteo_Games
"I like the lake- its really nice landscaping and vibrant colors. Trees are cool" - Feast_and_famine
"The only thing I like about this area is lots of Gylia fish nodes." - Jelliee_
    #29 - Dead Island
[Featured in 1 list, was in the top 5 least favorite areas on 100% of those lists. Due to being added to the voting thread late, technically 1/13 of eligible participants had it as one of their least favorites.]
"It's average I guess? This actually used to be a kinda popular grindspot before the herb cave and gavel existed, but now it's basically irrelevant." - WithTheFish

#28 - Canyon of the Lost - Thanos Region
This region encompasses the southeast portion of the canyon, featuring the Qira Hive and cherry blossom falls.

[Featured in 8 lists, was in the top 5 least favorite areas on 63% of those lists]
"The 'best' of the 3 CotL sections as voted by the community. It earned a bit more praise than the other regions, but a lot of criticism quotes I included earlier in the thread still apply here..." - WithTheFish
    "No." - Techno Skylaar
"The Hive stands out completely, great area. Thanos is a pretty nice place, though it could use a build rework since it is obsolete to Wynn's current style of building. Nothing more to say, just overall great area." - KingChampion
"I have so many fond memories of leveling at lvl 80. Fighting phoenixes and dragon turtles is always a blast, and The Hive is a very interesting area. The Hive almost seems like a military camp that Qira has made in order to prepare for a great war. Like an elemental stronghold waiting for the moment to unleash her troops. I wish we could fight Ozoth at lvl 100, that would be such a fun fight. Overall, there is just so much lore in the Thanos Region of COTL, and it would be a blast to see all of the lore get some resolution." - GreenTheMeme

    #27 - Toxic Wastes
[Featured in 5 lists, was in the top 5 least favorite areas on 60% of those lists]
"As much as I love the builds here, and do think it's the most unique area in the game, I can't deny how annoying the mobs are." - WithTheFish
"it isn't bad, I just think it doesn't fit into the SE" - Trapinch0

    #26 - Pigman's Ravines
[Featured in 4 lists, was in the top 5 least favorite areas on 75% of those lists]
"A similar issue I have with Canyon of the Lost, in that it's confusing to go through the area. It's not as bad, since it's small, but there's only two interesting things, the secret discovery, and that Creepers exist in the Wynncraft universe. There's not as much areas to explore, and it's a pain to have to backtrack to the guy in the Creeper Cave to do Temple of Legends Quest (and have to get a Creeper Mask again if you sold it)." - The Great Xeabia
"Pigman Ravine has the war at the front gate, and yes I know the Emerald Trail does to but I'm far less scared of zombies than I am an army of pigman, and it's a really good area to get some low level gear with plenty of areas, mostly up top, to explore, and yeah I died to the Pigman Overlord the first time I fought him who's asking?" - Shots
"Annoying low and high level. I know my way around, but it's still annoying and the amount of mobs+ quest helmet area (noticing a theme here??) aka creeper cave" - btdmaster

    #25 - The Desert
[Featured in 5 lists, was in the top 5 least favorite areas on 60% of those lists]
"Always felt like this place was underrated, it has some of the best lore of any location and lots of secrets to discover. Deserts are typically thought of as being barren, but this one is full of life." - WithTheFish
"Don't really find the desert interesting, I wish there was more to do and explore. It's honestly not that bad but I just dislike how much more there could be" - Dwicey
"just pretty boring in my opinion" - FreakyEagle48

    #24 - Black Road
[Wasn't in the top 5 or worst 5 lists of any participants]
"Mushroom trees are pretty neat" - WithTheFish

    #22 - Pre-Light Forest
[Featured in 2 lists, was in the top 5 favorite areas on 50% of those lists]
[Tied for 22nd place with Ancient Nemract]
"I think this is a rather underappreciated area, it's rather small but serves as a nice break from combat, as well as a rather peaceful area to explore." - JaydonTheWarrior
"Pretty average IMO, nothing really stands out here aside from a few caves. I feel like the orc fortress here has a lot of underused potential." - WithTheFish

    #22 - Ancient Nemract / Saint's Row
[Featured in 4 lists, was in the top 5 favorite areas on 50% of those lists]
[Tied for 22nd place with the Pre-Light Forest]
"because of the epic builds! especially the underworld crypt entrance with the tree and ruined coliseum, as well as the cathedral itself" - MusicalCroissant
"This place is just depressing" - Kusu

    #20 - Aldorei Valley
[Featured in 10 lists, was in the top 5 favorite areas on 50% of those lists]
[Tied for 20th place with Cinfras County]
"Never been a fan of the area's basic terrain, and honestly, there's 0 reason to return here once you've done the quests because who actually uses Uth runes. Pretty annoying to navigate too." - WithTheFish
"Something about this place makes me wanna live there" - Kusu
"Very nice buildings, very nice vibe, very nice music" - Matteo_Games
"Didn’t enjoy the two quests here too much and the place is one of the worst places in the game to navigate." - Ghastkilla

    #20 - Cinfras County
[Featured in 8 lists, was in the top 5 favorite areas on 50% of those lists]
[Tied for 20th place with Aldorei Valley]
"Barely anything here, mainly just a transition area." - Ghastkilla
"Forgery because you can get decent items" - Steampunk
"it's a nice birth of fresh air. In general, my favorite moments from this game tend to be on the more peaceful exploration side." - JaydonTheWarrior
"I just dont like it, its a boring area and it doesnt look as good as the levigar plains" - ZockerCam

    #19 - Coastal Trail
[Featured in 3 lists, was in the top 5 favorite areas on 67% of those lists]
"A peaceful area that looks very nice, but I will say there isn't much to do here IMO" - WithTheFish

    #18 - Detlas Suburbs
[Featured in 3 lists, was in the top 5 favorite areas on 67% of those lists]
"I'll never forget the feeling of making it past Nivla Woods for the first time and heading towards Detlas. I miss the old Drale quest though." - Jelliee_
"A pretty simple area that provides respite after your adventures in Nivla. Holds lots of memories for me, and probably many others." - WithTheFish

    #17 - Twain's Domain
[Featured in 11 lists, was in the top 5 favorite areas on 55% of those lists]
"By far the spookiest area in the game, most of the location is full of crypts and graveyards. The personalities of all the Twains intertwine here to form a wonderful location." - Techno Skylaar
"Caused me so much grief doing house of twain. The mobs are hard for an archer to hit and did too much damage. Had to come back with reinforcements 15 levels later just to do that quest" - MusicalCroissant

    #16 - Nivla Woods
[Featured in 6 lists, was in the top 5 favorite areas on 67% of those lists]
"nostalgia; nice short quests; Infested Pit Dungeon" - ZockerCam
"The journey to Detlas is probably pretty nostalgic, and your experience with it probably impacts how you feel about this area and the hordes of spiders you fought." - WithTheFish

    #15 - Durum Isles
[Featured in 3 lists, was in the top 5 favorite areas on 100% of those lists]
"it was my intro to boss altars, and I could just put on a podcast and farm without worrying about mobs" - MusicalCroissant
"This place is so useful for leveling up your early farming levels, not to mention the cool boss. Pretty underrated." - WithTheFish
    #14 - Roots of Corruption
[Featured in 7 lists, was in the top 5 favorite areas on 71% of those lists]
"I don't know about you guys, but I like the dark and sinister vibe this place gives off. It fits in seamlessly with the terrain around it, and I especially like the giant obsidian spikes." - Phantom Skylaar
"Why is the literal gateway to almost all of the evils in Wynn one of the lowest levelled areas in the game? and why, of all places, is this area the one place you don't need any special protection to enter? sure, I need a helmet to climb maro peaks, but you're telling me I can just waltz right up in front of the nether portal with zero repercussions?" - Gambler of Gales
"Every time I visit the Roots of Corruption I think about the glorious potential for it. I always imagined going to the nether and Doomguy shows up and we start killing demons together. There could be like a hell raid where a bunch of guys wielding Mythics go up and slay Garaheth. There's not much in the Corruption realm yet, but I see massive potential. More than anything, potential for good ideas is what gives Roots of Corruption the number 3 spot on this list. It's like a grand opening for the Nether update, except the door is shut and you don't know what's going to be on the other side but you expect great things." - GreenTheMeme

    #13 - Northen Corkus Island
This region encompasses the northern half of Corkus, featuring the Avos territory and both of the island's boss altars.

[Featured in 6 lists, was in the top 5 favorite areas on 83% of those lists]
"I love the Avos and their designs and I really enjoy the lore and secret discoveries here as well." - _Eth3real
"I like the relief of that place, it feels good" - 99loulou999
"Each unique segment of Corkus is epic, but the Avos region is what really stands out the most. The civilization has distinct styles to their buildings and atmosphere. Good area." - KingChampion
"The builds are cool yeah, but the "Man VS Bots" lore is just so generic and lame that I thought I went to Mann Up in minecraft. Also as a whole Island, there are so little quest out there. Just please make more quest regarding the lores and the whole place is completely fine. (I know making quests are hard, but if you could work on low-level quests then why don't use that time to take a look at these quests hated by the community?" - ghoti0315

    #12 - Eyeball Forest
[Featured in 6 lists, was in the top 5 favorite areas on 83% of those lists]
"Pog eyeball trees!! I love them" - Dwicey
"Not exactly sure why I like this place too much. Probably just because I go here a lot for woodcutting, Eo keys, ancient currency, and lootrunning" - Ghastkilla
"I like how the eyeballs are watching you running around the place, and it suits such a bizarre place like the SE." - ghoti0315
"Eyeball forest is the opposite of the Void valley in every possible way. In the Void Valley, there are many many different ideas for mobs that clash way too hard. In the Eyeball forest, there are only eyes. Eyes Eyes Eyes. The eyes running at you trying to kill you with god knows what aren't even that well designed. Whats that, you want an intimidating mob for the gate of the land of darkness? Nah, here's three eyes with wings ripped straight out of Pokemon. You want a good generic enemy that people won't be tired of seeing and offers a good challenge when faced in groups? Nope, here's exactly the opposite of that, plus it's just a big eye with the eye stock being its body. The Eyeball trees look nice, except the ground looks like some toddler messed around with paint and splattered it all over the Silent Expanse. God it looks awful, like if a Rainbow puked. There's just no cohesion there, it almost seems like the builders were clashing over what to build. It's just a playground mess of ideas, random colors, and structures that don't belong. RAINBOWS should not be the colors that I depict the SILENT EXPANSE as, you know, the place where the normal world of Wynn clashes with the essence of DARKNESS INCARNATE. There's a reason why I put almost the entirety of the Silent expanse in my worst 5. That's because they're all either amazing ideas gone horribly wrong, or horrible ideas gone right. There's nothing worse than something that could've been great wasted. That's just my opinion though." - GreenTheMeme

    #11 - Nesaak Taiga
[Featured in 11 lists, was in the top 5 favorite areas on 73% of those lists]
"the amount of time I spent grinding in wolf den, + I like frozen places cause they're usually very chill" - 99loulou999
"Good builds, snow, I like the music, has good lore" - Emolga3
"nice builds and generally cool area" - FreakyEagle48
"Lack of colors makes me sad :( also the snow golems suck" - Feast_and_famine

    #10 - Ice Canyon
[Featured in 7 lists, was in the top 5 favorite areas on 86% of those lists]
"has Tower of Ascension, one of my favorite builds in the game, and also cool ice spikes I guess" - Bleiiz
"Can't really think of any real flaws with this area, even if it doesn't stand out as much as some of the other locations." - WithTheFish

    #9 - Troms Jungle / Troms Outskirts
[Featured in 9 lists, was in the top 5 favorite areas on 78% of those lists]
"I have lots of memories here from when the Jungle was the endgame area, and the place still holds up... unless you're cutting down trees." - WithTheFish
"I've been spending the most time there, I like the monsters and loot chests, and just an interesting and aesthetic area" - MusicalCroissant
"Good music, chill area except for the Jungle Fetishes. I like it." - Emolga3

    #8 - Molten Heights
[Featured in 7 lists, was in the top 5 favorite areas on 86% of those lists]
"Incredible terrain, and despite spending so much time here I've never gotten bored of this place." - WithTheFish
"Rodoroc is my favorite city and the surrounding areas like the dragons and skeletons are amazing" - _Eth3real
"just a nice area with a nice Questline" - ZockerCam

    #7 - Light Forest
[Featured in 8 lists, was in the top 5 favorite areas on 88% of those lists]
"Mm just very cool, beautiful trees and atmosphere" - Dwicey
"I just love foresty places, especially pretty ones like this one" - Kusu
"one of my favorite places to explore. The scenery is nice ever since it was changed in 1.18." - Ghastkilla

    #6 - Southern Corkus
This region compasses the southern half of Corkus, featuring the Fallen Factory and Relos.

[Featured in 8 lists, was in the top 5 favorite areas on 88% of those lists]
"It's really interesting to see more of a steampunkish area in a fantasy world like Wynn, and had very interesting architecture, including the looming threat of the Fallen Factory that towers over the land." - The Great Xeabia
"I have no reason, but I love Corkus" - Dwicey

#5 - Void Valley / Path to Darkness
[Featured in 10 lists, was in the top 5 favorite areas on 90% of those lists]
[Was considered the favorite area by 9 different at-level players]
"I love the Eldritch Outlook, it look so cool, the rest of the Valley is also very nice" - Koni
"I love the void hole puzzle in AJF and the music for both these places is among my favourites." - Jelliee_
"*Void Hole?* Anyway lol really like the mobs and layout here, and cool discoveries" - btdmaster

    #4 - The Emerald Trail
[Featured in 10 lists, was in the top 5 favorite areas on 100% of those lists]
[Was considered the favorite area by 10 different at-level players]
"An excellent introduction to the server, and it still holds up on my 15th new class." - WithTheFish
"Cool buildings, cool atmosphere, though the path towards Ragni is not as great" - Dwicey
"because it brings back early game memories, and because it was my first real intro to professions bc I skipped the new tutorial by accident" - MusicalCroissant
"There's not really one specific thing that makes this location stand out, it just IS good. It gives the player a good impression of the game when they see it." - Techno Skylaar

    #3 - Time Valley
[Featured in 10 lists, was in the top 5 favorite areas on 100% of those lists]

"Fantastic builds and a peaceful atmosphere that I just can't complain about." - WithTheFish
"I find this area to be the most fun to explore although I’m not sure why. It also seems to stand out the most of anywhere else in Wynn." - Ghastkilla
"It is an area that really demonstrates the ones who constructed it pretty well. We know the Olm are an ancient civilization, and we can clearly see their distinct architecture. Good area, hope to see more of it in the future (I guess we'll know more, in time)" - KingChampion
"Though not very well established, the looks and lore are very nice. Time travel is very useful for "plot" purposes so there's an excuse for that. Time Valley is similar to the Roots of Corruption of why it's on the top 5. The potential for an incredibly unique and interesting place is there already, it just needs the extensions." - GreenTheMeme

"Despite the number of times I've fallen into the void Sky Islands is really fun to explore." - Jelliee_
"Now this..is a pure fantasy region. Despite it being a somewhat difficult place to navigate around, it still has its charms. The overall notion of the region is great; the buildings, islands that have unique features to them, etc." - KingChampion

"It's so creepy and ominous, I love it" - Matteo_Games
"Oh spooky. This area also lacks enemies, but for an entirely different reason than the others. The idea of a city with no one in it at all truly is unnerving, and what few enemies there are does a fantastic job at making you feel watched." - JaydonTheWarrior
"I love the atmosphere, and just the feeling of being constantly on edge even though nothing is attacking you- until something does." - Gambler of Gales
"I was pretty surprised to see this get 1st place, and in a landslide too. But now that I think about it, I can definitely see why it has earned its spot. The builds are impressive, the lore and atmosphere are great, and traveling through here isn't difficult." - WithTheFish

Can't say I'm surprised. I don't consider Olux to be awful, mainly because its a swamp, which usually are designed to piss you off, but it makes sense. I'm more just biased towards this area because of An Iron Heart, Cassiop, and Plague Laboratory.
Sad to see Lake Gylia rank so low. I actually quite like this area, because the lake view is relaxing and pretty and I've already said in the past why Hunger of Gerts is the best questline in the game imo (aside from maybe Iron Heart, and still debating those two in my head). Plus, it has the best gylia fish spot and one of the best cobalt spots, so at least there is some grinding merit to it. Purple and Blue is inoffensive so that's whatever.

Yes I am re-ranking the boss altars because people keep not checking the date of the video when they comment.
This caught me off guard the most while reading this. I hate exploring the Light Forest. All the mobs in it just piss me off because there are hordes of them literally everywhere, usually being ranged. Sure, I go here for Dodegar's Ultimate Weapon for free money and to start Finding the Light, but other than that, it has no merit in my eyes.

    Oh.
Surprised it got this high. I didn't expect it to be at the absolute bottom or anything, but I did expect it to rank somewhere in the middle of the pack, maybe the top 10-15. Personally, I think this area is a pain to navigate because the placement of the bridges is convoluted. I often end up going in the exact opposite direction of where I want to be when I use them.

Reason I say I didn't expect it to be ranked at the bottom because of this is, yes, the area looks nice, along with having one of the best quests in the game (One Thousand Meters Under). That's also not mentioning Orange Wybel and the grinding aspect in it with the variety of grind spots here (MIRROR MAN), along with profession hell.

Everybody saw this coming. I just don't consider it to be as good as people make it out to be because the Olmic Rune leaves a bad taste in my mouth. A Journey Beyond does to, but at least I have some time away from Aledar and can spend some time with my actual friends, being the Chat Spammers, Shy little cuties, and Larry.

Also for Maro Peaks, there are mobs that have PUSH SPELL that yeets you into the sea from the poorly made bridges out of nowhere. Seriously, I can't even see them.

Was kinda surprised about sky islands and southern corkus, I personally don't like sky but that's just me. But I really didn't think south cork had enough to make people think it was the best/really good

I didn't expect Kander forest to be the lowest ranked dark forest area. It's better than the Dark Forest in nearly every way, and has about the same amount of content as Olux while having a much better atmosphere. Overrall, this was the biggest suprise for me on this list.

Everyone says that the Savannah doesn't have content and so on, but there's just something that I like about it. The Savannah deserves much more new lore and content, mainly in the form of quests.

Also Lion Lair is one of the best caves in the game.

ok hold on for a second

did THE BLACK ROAD just beat THE DESERT

Another one that I did not expect to see, didn't think that either the Light forest or the Sky Islands would be this high. I consider them to be pretty good, so it's nice to see that many others like them aswell.

Im kinda dissappointed how low both rymek, dernel jungle, and the bantisu region of CotL were ranked. I love bantisu and rymek but compared to the other areas, it makes sense.

My opinion: What I find interesting about wynn is that in gavel, the builds are really cool and amazing to look at, examples : llevigar, cinfras, aldorei, thanos, rodoroc, ahmsord, maex, but gavel is lacking A LOT in lore but when we go to the wynn province, the builds are no where near as good or impressive as gavel, yet the lore in the wynn province is incredible. Again, my opinion so please don’t get offended if you think differently.

I'm honestly surprised about the desert, because I've always felt like this was the first "real first large area" for players. There's so much to do and explore, a lot of discoveries, cool songs, it's filled with interesting things and has SST which is real good to me. It was just surprising to see it near the middle.

No idea what it is about the Llevigar Plains, but I just really like how peaceful and quaint the area is. It really has its charm. But I do admit, it can be definitely get better.

Now I regret not participating, heh!

Sad to see this rated so high.

Sky is one of the worst-designed areas in the entirety of wynncraft. There's no good direction to it, which would be forgivable if it had verticality. Surprise, there's no verticality either. It's a glorified CotL that's worse than CotL in every way.

    Sky Islands should've been #10-15.

The major issue is lag. Frame lag, to be more specific. Maybe due to mods, but it's still a pretty nasty lagspike.

In addition, Sky Islands is very convoluted, complicated and a pain in the ass to navigate, unless you have mobility spells that have lateral movement as long as you have mana to sustain it, to fly from one island to another.

    Here's more nitpicks:
    • This is the only region that features guaranteed death, no questions asked. If you fall into the void, your only option is to either use a scroll, or /kill. Making it like the Void (the emptiness below the Void is barred off with a layer of Barrier blocks, which teleport you back to the start - this can be changed, obviously, to not teleport you to Sky Islands entrance straight away, as it would be a major sequence break) would save the players a lot of headache (and a lot of teleport scrolls).
      • I'm well aware that the Path to Darkness also has a Void underneath, but that isn't a major area.
      • This is notably affecting Archers during lootruns, and pretty much every class in general during guild wars. If you fall into the void during a lootrun, you'll have to find where you tossed yourself to the void and continue from there, or forfeit. In wars, this is even worse, because you'll have to forfeit anyway - no mobs spawn in the void.
    • The only quest that stood out was A Thousand Meters Under. Royal Trials is more or less a continuation of an earlier quest (being somehow connected to Flight Distress in that you have to fight a Skyraider... I think?), Recipe for Disaster featuring Chef Hamsey (a.k.a. the cook from Ragni) who sends you on a fetch quest in various lengths, and The Fortuneteller having nothing to do with its name, and just being a glorified "Jack and the Beanstalk" fable with a different ending.
That said, Sky Islands isn't a bad area, it is definitely one of the better Gavel areas, but it needs QoL polish to make it better.
