Larbonic Canker

Pardon me if this is actually a simple name which I do not understand, because english isn't my first language...
But what is Larbonic Canker supposed to mean?
Sounds as if it was a name for a prehistoric plague, but I don't know

 

Larbonic is likely a made-up word, as I couldn't find anything on Google about this word.
Canker, in this context, would likely mean a sore. The Toxic Biome, I believe, is actually an entity forming the land, so it'd made sense that this mob is a sentient sore.

Though, if I had to guess, Larbonic sounds like a word to describe a chemical or acid. So Larbonic Canker would mean an acidic sore.

 

Yeah... not a very lovely creature indeed.
