Welcome back to Wynnic Lore; the thread of threads that continues to grow despite the lack of people reading it. In the last couple of threads, I put spoilers containing pictures at the end. That project is going somewhat slowly compared to what I expected, but within another few Wynnic Lores, it may be nearing completion. Or rather, the first city will. For now, I will give some information as I promised in the last post, but I’d like to avoid completely spoiling everything.

Project FW (if I were to say it unabbreviated, it would give away a bit more) involves the recreation of what I believe certain cities we are yet to see may look like. You may have guessed that from the images, but at this point I may as well make it clear. And I just now realized how much that introduction makes me sound like a supervillain. If the captions of the spoiler images didn’t give away what I plan for the project at this stage, then I’m not sure what would. For now at least, this Wynnic Lore will contain the last spoiler for the project. I need more time to build; I’m far slower than I thought.

Moving on from that, the lore I want to look into further this week is the identity of the Seaskipper captain. He nearly mentions his name every once in a while, but he always cuts himself off when he sees land. Fortunately, him saying his name isn’t the only method we have at our disposal when it comes to finding his identity.

    Speculation
No, I’m not going to torture the captain into saying his name. That would go under the category of him saying his name. But based off of other things he says or mentions, or things we see about his lifestyle, we can make guesses as to where he might be from or events he witnessed. Not everything will point toward the Seaskipper captain being a specific person.

The first and, assuming you’ve met our subject, most obvious tool to discover the captain’s identity is his species. Now assuming he never went through some major facial transplant, I’d say the nose and tall head indicate him being a villager. Let’s see where villagers can be found. Well, there’s Gavel of course, and Wynn where they set up the colony of Maltic... ah, they’ve taken up residence in the silent expanse... even Corkus? The Corkain Capital city of Corkus? Well, the only province I know of that’s could have remained untouched by villagers is Fruma, and no one enters Fruma.

Well, that wasn’t helpful. What does the captain mention of his past... Brags about Gavel when you go there... demon cow? Interesting I guess... ah, this looks a bit more useful. He got the Seaskipper through inheritance. Meaning, although it was likely before, that he had to have lived near a somewhat large source of water, like a lake or river possibly even the coast, that was connected to the ocean. Otherwise he wouldn’t be ferrying people to different islands in the ocean, and instead would be confined to a smaller lake or stream (like Caid). The cities and towns the captain could have come from are, in no particular order, Maltic, Elkurn, Nemract, Selchar, Brimminglar, Almuj, Nesaak, and Llevigar. That’s not including the some of smaller towns, islands, or farms, but it shows just about how many places are eliminated due to their distance. It’s theoretically possible for a rich family to have a boat in a distant city or dock that they travel to every once in a while, but aside from merchants and soldiers, not many people like to risk the danger of monsters attacking them. Sayleros’ family is an exception.

Even having narrowed down the possible cities to eight, that still leaves plenty of possibilities as to where the Seaskipper captain is from. If there were another few pieces of information like that, then putting together the rest of his identity would be easy. Although that previous hint was rather useful, it appears to be the most useful thing available. Wait, I appear to have missed something. He says that the treasure merchant is one of his “ol’ mates”. Selchar may not have much unclaimed land in modern times, but as shown in Craftmas Chaos, the city was only built there around thirty years ago.

    The Story
Before I continue with the story, keep in mind that it is purely my opinion of what I think may have happened. It is influenced by facts I put together, but I am in no way claiming it to be cannon.

Around 900 AP, villagers traveled across the ocean to Wynn. A few continued to explore with the aid of the humans, colonizing islands and sailing between them with smaller boats, as large ships were becoming less necessary. With all these smaller islands, there wasn’t much of a proper city to stop at in the middle of the ocean to restock on longer voyages. The most similar location to this was Skeins’ fortress, and no one liked Skiens.

Getting tired of needing to overload their boats or paying premium midway through a journey, a few villagers and humans began to settle on one of the larger islands in the middle of the sea. The small colony quickly grew, but there was one larger plot of land owned by a specific villager. This villager mostly stayed on the island but had a small boat to sail shorter trips in; the Seaskipper. Through trade, which being the only proper city in the middle of the sea, Selchar got plenty of, this particular villager became quite rich. Then the merchant rather unfortunately died.

Because this isn’t a full book, so that cliffhanger didn’t likely have much of an effect. But it added about three and a half lines to this post, so there’s that. Anyway, the merchant’s inheritance was spread among their family and friends, with one of the merchant’s children getting nothing more than the Seaskipper. Without much choice, the Seaskipper’s new captain used the boat as a ferry service. Despite the boat’s small size, the business attracted adventurers and just about anyone who constantly traveled the sea.

    The End
This week has been a bit more stressful and chaotic for me than the past few. As I’m typing this into Word right now, I can’t guarantee that there will be another Wynnic Lore next week. The closest I got to going back and correcting mistakes on this post was this paragraph and as I go along. I intend to try to set a new schedule for myself to hopefully maintain some sense of time, and for a little while, that may not include Wynncraft. Who knows though, with how bad some of the jokes I make are*, that may be a good thing.

I’m not posting this section in Llevigar’s Docks because I may come back sooner and may even continue to come online for daily rewards and crates. However, I doubt I will do much involving Wynncraft for a bit.

*If all of them are even recognizable. I’ve noticed before that not many people I’ve met share my kind of humor.**
    **Yes, I’m using footnotes now.***
***These unnecessary footnotes are one of the more obvious examples of the humor I mentioned.****
****I may have picked this up from the Alcatraz vs The Evil Librarians books.
