Here's a reply a friend of mine from outside guilds wanted to make but due to the amount of shit people give in the guild community he'd rather not have his head bashed in so here's Mr. Anon's post.
to put it bluntly, i'm disappointed to see this.
i've had a lot of interactions with guilds and the team that makes this game and it always the same no matter what day and age it is: they are at each others throats.
it makes me reconsider what kind of community im a part of. what people i associate myself with. and what kind of people are on both sides of this argument. this post is nothing short of a riot, and i won't be surprised if i see it locked soon.
to any outsider, to any ct, to any staff, to any admin, this post is the prime example of why it's looks like guilds are awful, toxic people. it's so easy to read this post and immediately turn the other cheek to not help them. true, it does convey what it needs to, and it does make valid points.. but no person working on this game will see it and immediately jump to make guilds the best feature ever.
maybe if this was conveyed less angrily, or made into a coherent suggestion, it'd get more of a positive light.

i'm sorry that guilds are in this state. but this isn't going to make them better.

 

So what you want people to just sit here and wait if maybe the devs come around and see the issues?
this isn't even a rant its just stating what most of the community feels

I don't know about you man but we have both big alliances on the same side of the issue here all agreeing to put our differences aside.
And I think after about 3 years of complaining and making suggestion threads some mild ranting is more than warranted.

 

I honestly cannot agree more. Guilds are ignored because most of the staff doesn't like them. Then guilds get pissed off due to getting no updates and being ignored and take it out on staff. Staff get angry that guilds are being toxic and then ignore them further which causes the guild community to get even more pissed off. Can we NOT shit on each other for 5 minutes to get a group of both staff and guild community people to work together? Hell promote a guild community member to guild manager to direct all feedback to the devs/staff in a organized matter. Even better put two up there. I'm not going to rage on here like multiple people but PLEASE give someone from the community or a small group even to help direct feedback and issues guilds have. we need something before the guild community quits or kills each other.

from what I remember wars are literally just designed to waste ur time and somewhat have fun so... is just a game, y u have to be mad

 

Who is even mad? Its just people saying from different sides agreeing that this territory should either be nerfed or removed nothing more nothing less

 

I personally believe that there can be something more civil to come out of this, guilds have talked about stuff and made threads for a long time, and most of the time, it usually includes people arguing in the thread, because guilds are mainly a competitive aspect of the community, and compeition creates toxicity in extreme circumstances.

What I feel needs to be done now, well, not now but in the next while, the wynn team and guild leaders, should sit down and have a polite coversation with one another about what is possible to change about the guild system, I personally believe one of the reasons why Wynn doesn't touch guilds is because guilds are a really old system, and they may believe that one screw up in the code would require a rollback, and that would lead to so many people getting mad, because it is possible that guilds would be harmed in the process.

One person has to reach out to the other, if nobody else is willing to do so to have a polite conversation about what can and cannot change in the guild system, then I can?


But thats besides the point of this, the main point is how easily abusable glowbulb is! and I do agree, ranting about it won't do much, so lets sit down and have a conversation, to any CT/mods/admins that read this.

although wynncraft itself is a fairly small game and development matches that, the lack of updates on guilds is still inexcusable. it's a sad situation, but one i cant really see being improved upon greatly, as there is literally no one working on guilds. no branch of the content team has "guild work" noted even on the side, because there isnt actually anything to work on besides exceptions like bulb cave. the whole war/territory system is in need of a revamp, and thats a big project only head devs can initiate and progress. then those head devs have their priorities elsewhere and.. there is no salvation for guilds

i do hope the guild community gets some attention via this uproar, even if the chances are looking bad.

 

Actually I'm not lol from what I've read nobody really is mad as yall are saying its just people are tired of Wynn not listening to the people who literally play Wynn only because of Guilds and normally dismiss most if not all our ideas to improve this system

 

maybe the real guild xp was the friends we made along the way
