Why Invite The Most Toxic Community On Minecraft To Our Server?

There are so many better options of communities we can/could of invited but for some reason you choose; "Tommyinnit"

Also inviting such a big fan-base is already showing signs of breaking the server, Wars crashing more frequently and playercap reaching something like 3 thousand people last night (GMT+1).

Because Wynncraft has a new host, is this a way of stress testing the server or is this just a pointless shoutout?

Edit 1: I've been reading your comments and yes i agree with most of this and yes i'm a hypocrite which im fine with, but most of the players from this surge probably wont make it to level 106 etc. I don't agree that i'm gatekeeping as such but its just a complaint, im all for new players.

You're displaying levels of gatekeeping and toxicity that are extremely hypocritical.

 

As infamously toxic as the hsb community is, I think its a little early to be complaining. While I do agree a sudden surge in players can have a negative effect on connection issues and what not, it can also help stimulate the in game economy which has been crashing down pretty hard. Also, I really haven't seen any cases of toxicity so far so I think that having such a pessimistic view on the surge of players is not a good thing. Also, that means wynncraft might get more support and be able to improve the overall quality of the game.

 

I watched other people hang out near ragni earlier today- I didn't see ANY toxicity at all. Mostly just new players that needed some help. Wynncraft is so much less competitive than skyblock, and even if people are toxic there it's no guarantee they'll be the same here. Also, the whole toxicity on skyblock thing is quite blown out of proportion- if you avoid the forums (which aren't a part of the actual game mind you) there isn't actually that much toxicity, considering how many players are playing. Also, to agree with saya- you're literally being the thing you complain about- as you're assuming they'll all be toxic/scammers/whatever and by doing that you yourself are gatekeeping HARD and that is toxic.

 

More players each day keeps the shutdown away.

Judge people individually, not as a whole. This counts for communities and for humanity itself. If they are pushing the borders, they will deal with the consequences like everyone else.

 

Mind you also- most of these players will not be retained and hang around (most people quit before like level 30 when something like this happens)

 

Some people in hsb can be really cool people! Despite the popular image of toxicity that can be seen in the hypixel forums and in game, they are but the outspoken majority (majority?), and I am sure that the people who enjoy the wynncraft style of gameplay, and who stay with wynncraft will not be as toxic as you might imagine. In fact, I met three of my first internet friends while farming bones in hsb, and they all have played and thoroughly enjoyed wynncraft as a whole.
However, I think we can all agree that if three thousand more people play Wynncraft, we definitely need a better host xD

Stop gatekeeping, new players are good for the game, I don’t care where they’re from. You’re not being less toxic by gatekeeping, delete this thread.

edit: the servers are fine now too, wynn had a higher peak before when the trailer dropped and the servers were fine. your points aren’t based off anything factual, just misguided fear.

 

This server has been on the decline and any new surge of players are literally good for the survival of the server, gatekeeping is beyond cringe and you really shouldnt have that mentality because i bet you we have a big amount of our own toxic people in the community, coming from personal experience. FYI the servers are now better kekL

Edit: Its not useless lol, since tommyinnit is quite a big youtuber, him making a successful video on wynncraft would make other youtubers from skyblock want to make videos on the server, making the surge even greater and helping the server. No its not bad that "toxic players" are joining, stop being a child.

Look; we’ve been through this multiple times. Back when Grian advertised the server, or when Kotaku reported about it, and probably even when friggen InTheLittleWood from Yogscast did his series way back when; literally any time someone gives wynn attention there’s always one of these threads, espousing doom and toxicity from some awful fanbase or another. But it never happens; 9 times out of 10 anyone toxic enough to be worrying gets bored and leaves the server before they even do anything, and the last 10% leaves by, like, level 30. If they’re able to stick it for the long haul, they’re more than likely similar-minded enough to know better than to be toxic.

Besides, we could use some new blood in the game; the server isn’t exactly free to run, and if they’re as willing to pay as Tommy was it’ll be a boon for the server

 

I mean they didn't look like an awful fanbase to me honestly. They weren't perfect sure, but not even close to terrible.

Yeah and that will get fixed by the fact a good chunk of them are already spending money on stuff from the server, like, literally the youtubers themselves already bought like a full stack of each bomb. Tubbo pretty much paid himself this week's server fee and his fanbase will probably put money too which will allow for bigger servers and the issue will be fixed after the new servers are set up.

Basically a pair of youtubers called Tommyinnit and Tubbo made a video about Wynncraft, last night the game was lagging a bit because of Tubbo's stream bringing lots of players.

 

His community is people around his age, or even a bit younger. He is a bit rude sometimes, but I think the reason benjalaga is gatekeeping like this is because this will cause an influx of players that are all around 12 (lol, it's not a bad thing). For some reason, everyone assumes 12 year olds have the mental capacity of a lemon, and are as sour as one. I personally have no problem with 12 year olds joining. They might get hooked on that game, and as @WynnMilkman said, can help the economy a bit, which has been struggling. I joined wynn and was instantly greeted by someone nice and kind to me, which is part of the reason why I try to do that to others. I hope these new wynners will come and be positively influenced by the existing, kind community. Also Tommy innit is actually rather funny in his own sort of way. His aledar following him but was great.

Don't know who the heck Tommyinit is, just know that he was in MC Championships. ANYWAY, whoever he is or whatever his community is like, let em come and enjoy the server. Toxic people will take care of themselves anyway.

The more players in Wynncraft, the longer the server stays relevant (and alive for those who donate). I say it's a wynn-wynn situation.

Besides, more noobs are an opportunity for us to feel more superior. Imagine all the lost and confused souls we could guide and teach! or watch and make fun of!

 

As a Hypixel player, I disagree with this fully. Just because there is a partial of Hypixel's community that is toxic that doesn't meant TommyInnit is bringing over toxic players to Wynn.
Another thing, don't act like there aren't some toxic players on Wynncraft.
Wynncraft hasn't gotten a lot of new players so the more people that join Wynncraft the higher chance of Wynncraft staying up and alive.
It won't also just stop there. Another YouTuber; ThrityVirus, plans to make a series on Wynncraft which could possibly lead to more players coming to the server.
