Note: Most of the text isn't canon, and serves as an introduction to the the Hidden Side, a map many months in the making. The Hidden Side, however, is in the Your Work category, because it's a map.

    Here's a link:
    https://forums.wynncraft.com/threads/the-hidden-side.270097/

"The Eye has been blinded, the rooms full of reflective entities, maelstrom creatures and Catalysts have all been cleared out, and emptied. All the mysteries of the Eldritch Outlook have been uncovered, as The Eye’s reign of darkness ends across the Silent Expanse… or so I thought.

The creatures, the… entities, of the Silent Expanse still roam around, and are continuing to appear despite their numbers expecting to be dwindling down now that the tower is no longer operational, nor is it occupied by any of the… things that inhabit it. The Eyeball Forest, the Blinders and most of the other eye-related creatures are still there due the trees of course, and the Kantry are being cared for by Lutho. But what about some of the others? The Observers, for instance, don’t seem to come from any of the trees, and no nests are observed (if they even do come from nests). They just seemed to… appear, mostly at the extreme North-East of the forest. The ones that inhabit the Toxic Wastes are not a concern, as most of them come from the wastes itself anyway. The Void Valley, however, has always been a bigger mystery than any of the other regions in this land spread of darkness.

I have been in the area of (but not really) Nothing, wandering around and closely studying the strange characteristics of the flora and (???) fauna that exist in this space, often breaking the many laws of this world, including occasionally magic itself. I have not looked long enough for me to make a decently good conclusion, but I will go on an extremely wild guess that most of these things such as the swimmers and the rarely-occurring black holes come from another dimension, or possibly another plane of reality, while the more organic-looking ones such as the sharp jaws and the screeching and shrieking monstrosities are horrible void-warped mutations of previous animals living in the pre-darkness Silent Expanse, like the beings at the bottom of Gavel’s Sky Islands several hundred metres down.

There is, however, one being of the Valley that caught my attention more than any other. I have previously heard reports of an elusive and peculiar entity. From what I have heard and read about it, it seems to be a near pitch-black humanoid monster, wearing what seems to be red boots, although I highly doubt they aren’t part of its body, given that barely anything in this place is human at all. But the strangest thing that caused me to grow a bigger interest, is the fact that is it walking on the ground, upside-down. That’s right! This odd creature’s mode of movement may be simple compared to the other entities of the Valley, but it is still unique. It must be out of its natural habitat due to the way it walks so strangely on normal ground, I’m sure of it. There has to be a place where the way they walk is normal and natural for them. I have decided to name their species The “Ambulata” from a book I found in Lutho, as I theorized that there must be more of them, somewhere. And there is only one final place to search for any clues on the origins of the creatures of the Silent Expanse. The Eldritch Outlook itself.

It can’t have been that simple, it was too simple. The outer size of the Eldritch Outlook can’t be taken into account, of course, due to the many rooms and hallways that don’t seem to make sense, doors that lead to endless spaces of void with swirling cosmic galaxies, and rooms that probably aren’t even real, like the parallel world on the other side of the Eldritch Outlook’s mirror. Ah yes, the Mirror. The first obstacle of the giant structure, and arguably, the true entrance to the entire Outlook itself. By running through the reflective barrier and melting through the mirror is one then truly inside of the Eldritch Outlook.

And this is where it all comes together. Despite the giant rooms the building has, there is one problem that formed my doubts.

There aren’t enough rooms. There seemed to be too little.

There has to be more… somewhere in the building… I’ve observed the tower from afar, there are much more doorways leading outside, some to balconies and some to even more doors that I have never entered nor came out of during my time going through the inside of the building. I know the inner geometry and architecture of the outlook shouldn’t be taken seriously, but the theory that the outlook contains so much more fits the explanation for the sources for many of the beings in the Expanse. I will need to investigate the rooms much more closely this time, now that the place is empty.”

“It- it is true, I think I found the solution, the answer! It was the entrance of the Eldritch Outlook, the giant mirror all along! My theories of the mirror being the true entrance of the structure were right after all. After several hours of observing the large wall of glass-like material without the interruption of any ghostly entities, I think I have found a way. I needed to slowly sink into the wall, very deliberately with the determination to enter the unexplored parts of the Eldritch Outlook in my mind. I haven’t seen much, but I took a glance and saw a room, a smaller room that’s completely different, but yet still the same from the original snowy-like landscape of the land of the mirror. I saw mirrors all around the walls, reflecting from side to side casting a view which seemed to spread on for eternity. And at the corner of my eye before I stepped back out, what seemed to be...

…an Ice Moth of some sort?

At least that was what came to mind when I first saw the white winged creature. After a moment of recovery from finding such an incredible discovery, I went back in to observe again, and after several tries of catching it from the corner of my eye like the flash of light at your peripheral vision when you look away from a mirror, I soon found out that it wasn’t an Ice Moth, it was a winged… bird? A fish? It appeared to be both. I should try to go closer to study it, to learn more about this... creature within the mirror.”

Altakar actually helped in that part of the map, which is why I kinda referenced them here. They're in the credits on the Hidden Side post.

tbh, Wynncraft needs these diaries and journals all around the world (not just limited to discoveries or quests) that better establish lore for certain areas as discovery lore is too short and ambiguous most of the time, adding a Mad Arab style collection of books that player can find would be a nice way to expand lore and increase immersion.

You should really consider applying to be a GM because this sounds really interesting and insane but soooo cool!

Thanks, you can click the link to see more of the Hidden Side map, it has so much content!

Btw, Salted actually offered a position to me but I declined due to lack of time for CT work, so unfortunately I most likely won't be joining the staff team until I have more free time IRL.

Diaries and Journals are a bit too unoriginal in my opinion, if I had the opportunity to make such content, I would definitely come up with something else that is more unique, and also fit the theme of the current context/ where this information is located in. But yes, I do agree that there is never too much information to be placed around the Wynncraft world.

I hope the same too, maybe then I would have more extra time in the future.

As for the CT position however, there are other reasons other than time constraints, another one being the fact that I actually prefer my current way of creating content, being able to create anything at my own leisure, being able to leave (for as long as I want) and come back to my work at any time without any deadlines, and without any idea restrictions (If nobody else agrees with a certain idea, etc.). I may not know much about life as a CT, but I always like a bit more freedom to do what I want, so unfortunately I highly doubt I would be joining the staff team. Do note that although that may change in the future, I'll just have to wait and see.

    Hey,

I've moved this to the "Your Work" section as it feels more like a fan story rather than a theory/discussion about the game itself. Excellent work on the thread though!

Thanks! I guess it slightly feels that way.
Is there any way to merge two threads together?
