Personally, I'm not a big fan. Don't get me wrong, it's good, but they don't quite fit. It just seems ever so slightly off from what the other music tracks are. Really easy to tell which ones were made by c418, and which ones weren't. No idea why they didn't have c418 do the music, but I hope it doesn't happen like this again. What are your guys' thoughts on it?

Honestly, I think it fits really well. It's a little spacey, and it's not quite as melodic as some of C418's tracks, but that's what makes it fitting. The Nether is such a strange place, especially now with the new biomes, and the new songs reflect that alienness well. I'm also glad they play only in specific biomes. A gripe I've always had with Minecraft's music is how any song can play anywhere in a dimension at any time, which makes listening to the songs less unique, and eventually I just get tired of it so I turn the music off. That's not the case with, say, Terraria, which has had biome-specific songs forever.

As fas I've heard, the devs said they wanted another artist to make the nether feel more alien-like or simply different from the overworld
And I can say, they kinda succeeded if you think it doesn't fit

I'm a big Celeste fan, so I generally liked it, but I can see where you're coming from in terms of fit; Lena's style is definitely pretty present. in terms of aya's comment, that does make a lot of sense, and I feel like it definitely does work in that regard! I really like the ambient spooky/ethereal vibes on So Below and Chrysopoeia, so that combined with the fit makes it just the right amount of vaguely unsettling for me.

Pigstep is an absolute banger, but it sort of strays away from C418's style.

I totally agree. Overall the nether soundtracks are very nice but they do stray away from C4's general style- however, that's the whole point, so it can be forgiven. I think.
