Weird Ocean Cave

So I've been exploring the ocean for the past hour to see what I can find, and I came across this strange cave at

X: -12 Y: -3581

Now when I go inside, there's a button with a sign with a blatant hint to press the button and run to the locked chamber on the other side of the cave. So, I did that, I ran as fast as humanly possible, but the door doesn't stay open long enough.

Is anyone familiar with this cave? If so I'm very curious as to how I'm supposed to get into the secret chamber.

 

i think its a part of the "desperate metal" quest since the water cave in that quest has riddles and a puzzle and iirc that sign is the riddle.

 

It literally isn't though, these caves aren't even similar in the slightest way. Did you even check the pictures he provided before you posted?

Actually yeah, they arent really that similar my bad, i remembered that that was related to the quest. And yes, i did see the pictures.

Anyways, I spotted this thread about one minute it was posted and was bored enough to check the cave out immediately.
I searched the cave with my 350% walkspeed build and even then I wasn't fast enough to open the door, but then after a few tries I noticed that the door stays open for longer periods of time if you press the button multiple times and thus I managed to get inside fairly quickly (probably within the first 5 minutes from when this thread was created.)






I spent like the last 10 minutes trying to import these screenshots but the forums is being stupid, anyways,
it looks like a chest would be there in the middle but as you can see there is nothing, just to doublecheck I spent the last 10 minutes I've been trying to upload these darn pictures waiting in the cave to see if a chest spawns or not, and I can definitely say the cave is simply empty at this point.

Yeah mysteries are mysteries for a reason, most of them should probably stay like that too

Found that too a while ago, looks like a loot chest location but I guess it got scrapped

 

Have you tried activating all the pressure plates in that room? I don't think it would do anything though...

 

Yeah I highly doubt it, they love to use those pressure plates as decorations in treasure rooms
