Ruined Olmic City would be way better if it had mobs.

I disagree heavily. One of the reasons the place has such a thicc atmosphere is due to the lack of mobs. It helps the area feel, off. Even more so then that, a city avoid of any kind of life in general is pretty uncanny.

Plus it serves as a nice break from combat, which is rather needed. The game is generally overflowed with mobs. Wynn fundamentally put alot of the same mobs over large areas, gavel made that better by giving mobs roles, (Like how orks have warriors, chefs, scouts ect.) Both of these however lack pacing. They tend to place mobs in every available area, unconcerned with how this affects the pacing or atmosphere.

    ----

There's plenty of more reasons for this, but trust me, the lack of mobs is done on purpose, and it works.

Is everyone gonna ignore that the Quiet Observers are a thing?

Anyways, my favorite part of the Expanse would probably be the Toxic Wastes, its origin is pretty interesting and its home to quite a few interesting mobs, my favorite being the Pathogenesis because it's the only fast mob that actually is a bit unsettling and generally should be ran away from.

Ruined Olmic City. The music, the ruins, the lack of mobs all really neatly contribute to the abandoned atmosphere. It's really lovely looking around and thinking of what could have been there... All the other biomes, while cool in their own ways, are a little bit too wacky. Well except for the EO area and it is a close second for sure.

It works during the quest, but there's no real reason to ever go back there after the quest (except for the singular secret discovery) which contributes greatly to the manufactured and unfinished feel of the Silent Expanse. I don't think it needs mobs in the widespread open areas, but it could really benefit from having occasional one-off mobs in hidden areas.

It'd be nice if it had more chests, if not mobs as like druser said, there's really no reason to go there at all after the quest- it just kinda exists between detlas and the eyeball forest.

EO because it's the only hard dungeon and it looks amazing, also the Eye has great music. 2nd favourite is either Ruined Olmic or Lutho. There isn't really much to like about the Toxic Wastes or the Void Valley because there's basically nothing in them besides a secret discovery in the valley and loot chests lmao

    Ah.

See for one of my video projects (which was a documentary) I asked my teacher if I could use pathogenesis as the focus of my documentary and she said yes. For said documentary we needed to "interview someone". For said interview I was going to pretend to be someone who watched as the pathogenesis mutilated an entire party before dragging their bodies into its lair while they were still whimpering in a desperate attempt to get help. Of course, I figured that wasn't "school appropriate" so I just cut out the mutilation scene and other people and instead just said that the person I was interviewing essentially started having Vietnam flashbacks when they saw the pathogenesis heading towards them.

So ya know, very much so a love hate relationship between me and this mob.
(Does anybody know what happened to that thread where I had the post about pathogenesis?)
They managed to add a mob that pisses me off more than the Ice Barrows key guardian.
    The.
    Ice.
    Barrows.
    Key.
    Guardian.

Let that sink in for a second. I don't know which one of you CT members thought this was a funny joke, because guess what? It ain't you son of a bitch. "Hur dur let's add a mob THAT IS THE EQUIVALENT SPEED OF ANTIKYTHERA AND HITS LIKE A GOD DAMN TRUCK AS A NORMAL MOB. ALSO MAKE SURE IT HAS AT LEAST 10k+ HP SO 90% OF PEOPLE CAN'T ONE SHOT IT SO IT RUNS THE FUCK AWAY LIKE A BITCH ONLY TO RUN BACK AT YOU WITHIN A NANO SECOND" is exactly how the conversation went when adding this mob. Like, imagine waking up one day and deciding that Wynncraft needs this mob. What kind of twisted bastard do you even have to be for this to even come into your mind as a "worthy addition to the game"? Also, the fact THAT A DEVELOPER looked at this and thought "yeah no this is fine" makes me want to unrionically pull a rocket launcher out my ass and blow up Detlas.

So, listen here you little shit "Pathogenesis". If you ever were a person I would immediately slam you into a wall before ripping your throat out and feeding you to the wolves, you sick fuck.

    ....
Sorry, I don't know why I all of a sudden felt the pure rage I do for the Undergrowth Ruins in 1.18. What I meant to say was I hate this mob.

Wait, what was this thread about?
Oh, it's definitely the Eyeball Forest. We had a pretty cool staring contest once. It lasted for about 12 hours and then my wifi cut out. Guess we'll never know who won.

I'd have to say the Ruined City as I'm in love with the architecture with it's design and what it adds to the culture the Olmic race had before they were wiped out. Plus I think there is a lot of potential for it in future updates to have more content added to it such as deeper history and links to the Twains (since we see the same hooked mountains in the Twain Graveyard so possibly an influence there?)
