Hey, I just finished the quest "A Hunter's Calling" and I am very confused about what exactly is happening. Can anyone explain to me what is going on in the quest? Like did we got sent back in time and had to do bad things or we were looking through different people's memories, it's really confusing.

You were presumably sent back as someone else, to witness events from the other side. Most of these events seem to either have not happened or to have happened differently in reality, while some appear to be fairly accurate to what actually happened. CoW never broke free and killed Troms, Detlas was never destroyed, Theorick wasn't killed by an undead and so on. Maybe the mysterious being was trying to show you what could happen if you sided with darkness. However, it seems likely that Wynnexcavation did assassinate the leader of Almuj, so it certainly appears there's an element of truth to them.

So are we being sent back by the person or we are witnessing things from the perspectives of different creatures in different time?

I think we're witnessing the actions or potential actions of another, but it's hard to say. Most of the events didn't actually happen (I think it's safe to say the Wynnexc one and maybe the sack of Ragni one did), so it's all very ambiguous, but the fact that we're a mech for part of it makes me think we're witnessing the potential actions of another, or what might have happened if we were that "other" rather than ourselves.

And I should also add that we are at different times also a villager and a corrupted (for most of it actually) , so it seems likely that it's the actions of another, but we could be corrupted hypothetically if we were evil, so...

I think that it's showing how certain events would go differently if you the player were on the side of the bad guys, thus making those events succeed instead of failing. Obviously some of the events don't quite track with that, (like the Wynnexcavation part and the Corkus part that seems to be at some point in the future of your world), but most of the parts fit into that formula.

Tbh the Wynn ones give me corrupted dungeon vibes
I have a theory that they are the events of what happened in the corrupted dungeons' reality

Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. They're a world where all the bad things happened.

Wynnexcavation isn't in the future, but it also doesn't fit with the formula.
