Media Nakedli Solo (no Consumables)

Last year, I challenged @YYGAYMER to do LI naked:



The jist of the challenge is to beat LI solo without any armor or consumables. All you have are accessories and weapons.

He never took up the challenge (I think) during that time because regen would be nearly impossible against Cybel's attacks.

So I set out to do it myself.

My friend, Ioneth, dubbed the challenge NakedLI (nakedly) when I told her about it.

I tried Ignis only Death solo back then in preparation against LI and I nearly beat it. Ignis only required 80 def at the time. Looking back, I was still a semi noob and have not mastered the skills of archer. I probably would have easily beat it if I had the skills from today.

Nearly a year passed by until our best loot ring friend dropped by with a buff:



GREED. Perfect to counter Cybel's attacks.

I started attempting it myself. First run was actually not that bad and I managed to get to Cybel 5th phase in which he had about 240k hp left.

Then I stalled.

Dead to Mummyboard (wtf flamethrower). Death. Corkus dudes. Idol. Robob.

But most importantly,

Cybel (half of my failed attempts).

I seeked YY for help. The tl;dr of the strategies he gave me was stay in the middle and pray for RNGesus. Why pray? Meteor and Heavy Charge combos can kill me in less than a second.

I gave up after 3 months sometime around March. 14 attempts, still no go. My best was Cybel to 150k hp 5th phase.

15th attempt, 80k hp left. Nice!

Then... on my 16th attempt...

Today is the day I finally achieved my long time goal: beat LI naked.

I also use Diamond Solar Ring in place of Old Keeper's ring when I need to.

Spoiler: Strategy

Before entering the arena, talk to the NPC to stall the bosses attacks for ~30 seconds.

All bosses except Cybel employed one strategy:

• Cycle storm, shield, storm, shield.
• When activating powder buff, cycle storm, storm, shield.
• Do not pick up emeralds unless to heal.
  
• Keep arrow shield up at all times.

Storm almost guarantees an emerald to be dropped. 60 (maybe 20? because 3 arrows combine into 1 ish when close?) arrows with 6% stealing per.

Cybel:

• Initial strategy:
  • Use same strategy as above for 1st and 3rd phases.
  • During 2nd and 4th phases, purposely step on pressure plates to summon minions. Spam arrow storm on them to make them drop emeralds. After each wave, there should be about 20-30 emeralds on the floor. Try to spread them out.
    • Minions on the arena heal Cybel very fast. Don't trigger them during other phases.
    • In case of accidental trigger, kill them as fast as possible but not too fast because mana needs to be conserved for last minute getaways.
  • During 5th phase:
    • It becomes a DPS game. The longer Cybel is alive, the higher your chances of getting 2-shotted by meteor heavy charge combos.
    • Switch to crafted bow: https://wynndata.tk/cr/234673174 (powdered with t6 water)
      • For more DPS
      • There is a bug where using crafted weapons do not trigger greed even if you are wearing greed and have stealing.
    • Switch to Diamond Solar Ring instead of Old Keeper's Ring because of ^.
    • Cycle escape (then slap down on Cybel), storm, shield. Escape helps stun him from comboing.
    • DPS DPS DPS!!!
• In the video strategy:
  • I forgot about Draoi Fair denying me 80 int to use the crafted bow so during 5th phase:
    • DPS DPS DPS!!!
    • If I accidentally step on pressure plate (shown twice), switch back to Old Keeper's Ring and kill minions quickly. Then switch back when done.

Dr. Legendary 3rd phase in the video strategy:

• Again, I wanted to use my crafted bow, but forgot about the above. My Ignis dealt even less damage against Dr. Legendary than the same against Cybel. So I tried to abuse earth weakness and spam in bombs as well during powder specials. Arrow rain from shield also helped.

15th successful run; 16th try.





I think I have finally peaked. I nearly fainted after I won.

 

Nice, that's some good gaming. Keep this up and we'll start asking you to run LI with a Very Specific Build on every thread you make.
