    Updated the main post of the thread with a change to Nether's Scar that was supposed to be added this patch but was missed due to a mistake. Hopefully it'll be added in the next couple days!

    Nether's Scar

    Health: 4000 -> 3350
    Water Defense: -140 -> 0
    Earth Defense: 0 -> -140

    Dexterity Points: 7 -> 12
    Defense Points: 16 -> 12
    Health Regen %: 115 -> 140 (42 to 182)
    Attack Tier: 0 -> 1
    Raw Health Regen: -75 -> -400 (-280 to -520)
    Fire Damage %: 14 -> 10 (3 to 13)
    Thunder Damage %: 14 -> 10 (3 to 13)

    It is more than a little bit more clicking:

    The numbers are the percent of spell utilization of a pure mana steal build compared to a pure mana regen build, for various clicks per second.

    4.5 is the typically assumed meta spellspam cps (6 spells per second - if you survey most spellspam builds they tend to be very close to this rate). Most players who use spellsteal tend to have around 6 cps or more. Highbread is around 10 cps. It's possible that some warrers can go higher, but Wynncraft's spell detection functionally throttles the player's spells somewhere around 12-15 cps (it's hard to measure exactly where this threshold is).

    The regions in red are where it is impossible to maintain continuous melee and also cast spells - the efficiency starts to drop precipitously as the stretching effect diminishes the power of mana steal. Note that if you have significant mixed mana the red numbers will be a bit higher (e.g. 4.5 cps x Slow will be 66.67% if you have exactly even mana) but of course the downside here is that you're not getting as much raw power out of the mana steal since you'll have a lower quantity of it that can be utilized at that particular cps - functionally, this means that any combination of mana regen and mana steal that sums to the same net mana will produce the same power output.

    @highbread thought you might be interested. I was curious and Selvut's comment gave me a good opportunity to crunch the numbers for myself.

    Yeah I really should post that to a separate thread. It ended up being much more involved than I had planned when I started to reply... and there are a lot of interesting things to talk about (I haven't covered the efficiency of stretching vs. alternating yet).

    Well most of the opinions are more factual than opinion here, since it's balance that some people understand while others don't. And most people are agreeing, so I don't see the controversy.

    Virtuoso: Yeah it's getting a nerf
    Slower attack speeds being better for steals: It's a known fact
    PvP balance not existing: Old news
    Nighthawk being OP: It still is, after the minor nerf. It's less versatile now, but there's literally no difference when being used on archer.
    Powder Weapons: also busted af, the only people complaining are the ones who profited from them.

    Oh also gma and warp got shadow buffed hpr wise

    I need to revise some of the red numbers on the chart - I didn't account for the middle of the melee/spell distribution function, so some of those near the very bottom right corner are likely too low. I really don't know how much of a difference it will be - it could be sizable, or it could be like the Def/Agi tradeoff.

    Toxo isn't too strong though? While it does assert dominance over other poison options, poison as a main focus isn't too powerful. Heavy melee toxo with poison secondary is an interesting idea, but then again, courage is a bit wasted when you can quake. High strength req forces you to slap a bit, and basically no base scales badly.

    Oh yeah high strength req is a very big factor.

    Courage toxo with poison as the main focus is evidently the way to go. Even then, DPS is **relatively low** and there's no way to increase it past the courage + fixed poison damage. (No room for outplay unlike heavy melee or fast hybrid, for example).

    crafteds are irrelevant if you're going to bring that up because crafteds make everything op.




    but honestly can we get some Fs in the chat for Spleen Splitter :(

    That was more of a sarcastic comment but if I must say, a weapon should not be as strong as this in my opinion. It gives so much damage with very little downsides from what I can tell at least. Other weapons that have that for example are things like freedom as it gives a large amount of damage with extreme tankiness and it makes the game far easier than it needs to be. That brings up the whole conversation of easy endgame content that could at the very least have a “hard mode” or “challenge mode” to require these items to be this strong. My opinion is that toxoplasmosis could use a nerf to player damage in hunting because it’s so dominant at the very least but I would even go as far as to say nerf the poison by 30% all around either way.

    you can't judge a weapons strength based on its prowess in pvp
    because of the discrepancy in mob and player health, high amounts of poison like this are strong in pvp, but mediocre at best against endgame content

    Which is why I suggested that they reduce the pvp damage slightly to make it a little less “insta kill” in hunted. I would also disagree strongly that it’s mediocre in endgame with that high of a poison stat

    yeah reducing pvp damage all around by like 60% to 70% would be great, but still, 13000/3 poison in endgame lens is.... ok?
    i mean, stacking poison, i don't know what you can get exactly but i'd assume somewhere around... 30-33k? every 3 seconds? in a full poison build?
    that's 10k-11k dps, added to any raw melee, if the items have that.

    if you go cancelstack, you can get like 26-33k dps, maybe higher with totem, but... that's only alright cancelstack damage? and for a mythic?

    To be fair cancelstack is a little ridiculous currently, but the point still stands that compared to other builds, Toxoplasmosis really isn't that impressive in PvE. It certainly holds its own and brings a unique playstyle to the table, but it isn't even close to being overpowered. PvP is a whole different setting which doesn't really get accounted for when we're making items.
