How Does Poison Works?

If there is a mob that have 15k of health and I have 5000/3s poison with super speed weapon, can I kill the mob by just hitting it three times? or need to wait for 3 more seconds to deal another poison damage?

 

If you have 5000/3s poison, it means when you hit a mob it will deal 5000 poison damage to that mob over 3 ticks, each tick being roughly a second, which is why it says 5000/3. So yes, if you hit a 15k hp mob 3 times, and wait for the poison to deal all 3 ticks of damage before hitting it again, it will kill the mob.
