Hey, so I recently returned to Wynncraft after like, 2-3 years, and I'm heavily interested in the new shaman class. Playing it has given me a new unique feeling to the game, but I'm wondering, any advice on how to build a shaman? I was considering spell spam, but I'm uncertain if it's the right way to go about doing things, since the shaman normal atk seems really great, and a STR build with the buffs from the totem constantly sounds like a good way of going about things.

As such, any tips and tricks on building shaman?

you're lvl 16 anything will work fine

btw shaman has 50% base defense so when it gets hit it takes more damage than other classes

as you level up you'll notice water damage% identification will make your totem heals greater and your maximum health will also affect it

any class can work fine either as melee or spell spam doesnt matter

in a lategame build you could use water and fire for both high health and better totem heals

For leveling shaman, I'd say just put like 30 into agi and then start splitting it between int and agi until you get 68 int, then max out air and put the rest into whatever

Hi, when I left, elements had just been added, can I clarify what you both mean by maxing out air, or using water and fire?

Right, sorry. Each of the skills in the compass (strength, dexterity, intelligence, defense, and agility) has an associated element. Having skill points in a category boosts that category’s respective damage as well in addition to the category’s primary effect (Agility’s dodge chance, defense’s damage reduction, etc.)

The five skill categories and their elements are as follows:
Strength (abbreviated as str) is associated with the earth element.
Dexterity (abbreviated as dex) is associated with the thunder element
Intelligence (int) is associated with water
Defence (def) is associated with fire
And Agility (agi) is associated with air

For most people, the skill categories are interchangeable with the elements. Maxing out air, for example, really means maxing out agility, while maxing out fire and water really means maxing out defense and intelligence, respectively.

As for what weeb means by using fire and water, fire items tend to have high health, while water damage boosts totem’s healing abilities, so combining the two elements in a build gives you a totem with very high healing capabilities in the endgame, making you much harder to kill.

Lastly, if you left that long ago, I recommended you read this guide to catch up if you haven’t already: https://forums.wynncraft.com/threads/returning-players-read-this-what-has-changed-updated.250419/

Appreciate the advice, I'll look up the guide asap. As such, you are essentially advising a AGI/air MAX build for shaman, as the totem passive damage is linked to air dmg, INT for spell sustainability/heals, while weeb is suggesting a late game fire/water build, meaning a tank shaman build, reliant on staying alive throughout everything?

Yeah, basically. Air is also really good for survivability since agility gives you a chance to outright ignore damage, and it gives you walk speed to let you avoid attacks more easily, but beyond that you’re pretty spot on

Well this discussion is pretty (almost completely) flawed since skillpoint requirements on items are more important than the points themselves. Put points as needed so you can equip the items you get/want. You should only worry about a build once you're near 100, anyway.

Ah that's something I didn't account for, and I am kinda suffering for it... I guess I'll just keep resetting based of the weaponry/armor for now till I get to the 80s/90s, since we no longer need the tower scroll like the old days
