SPOILER Next Update 1.20 What Do We Know

    Hey

    so rn the last update we got was a few months ago
    really nice
    But after that update i was like: whats next?

    Cuz we already kinda knew what was coming from older updates
    Like gameplay
    Dungeon update
    Game play update
    And dern

    we knew that those where coming

    but rn i don’t know what we getting for the next update

    do we get dern
    do we get a guild update where our old legend jp was talking about
    or is fruma coming

    i just think its time to start up some hype

    So if you have anny leaks trow them in here
    So we can speculate

    These are the kind of things we always get no matter what: A handful of quests, some revamped quests, new ingredients, revamped areas.

    These are things that we'll very likely get: More fabled items, more Major IDs, more secret discoveries, new mob models, Corrupted Galleon's Graveyard, level cap raise by 2-3 levels.

    These are things that I hope we get (and other people generally seem to want too): Reworked Realm of Light quest, Gavel dungeons, removal/overhaul of quest helmets.

    Other possible additions (pure speculation): New systems/mechanics (maybe skill trees or some spell flexibility?), a new endgame challenge (updates seem to bring this quite frequently (ToA, Hive, LI, EO).

    What I think we won't get: I don't think we'll be getting Fruma and I think that Fruma will link into the main storyline so I don't think we'll get much added to that either.

    What we KNOW we're getting: Item reworks (lots of them to fit the tri-archetype thing).

    I'd see the main storyline get revamped, but some older quests that don't really fit the current state WynnCraft is in (looking at you, boring fetch quests) need it more for the time being. Eventually, time will come for Bob's Tomb - get rid of that wonky three-man lock door.
    New ingredients are always nice.

    More tradeable fableds is cool and good considering there's a dozen of them being untradeable. More Major ID's is already linked to there being more fableds ("we can't make more fableds without more Major ID's", paraphrased quote from IM), more discoveries is most likely the final set (Jungle, Dernal, Troms) and the rest I reckon could be possible, with the exception of level cap increase, unless a new endgame area much like The Silent Expanse is added.

    Realm of Light needs a rework, I agree. Just too tedious, having to run around from one end of the realm to the other. And where's Orphion? Wasn't he supposed to be the final boss of the quest? Also regarding Gavel dungeons - there's a scrapped dungeon (according to wiki): The Mortal Mountain. More is fine, but as far as I know (from the wiki article) there was apparently plans for a Dungeon in CotL that got scrapped.
    And I agree with the removal of the quest helmets - they serve no purpose other than annoy the poor player who has to get them over and over again. Maro Peaks is literally inaccessible without it, and **THREE** quests are bound to a simple leather cap that serves no other purpose. Same goes with the Factory Helmet. You don't own the helmet? BOO HOO, no entry for the factory for you!
    Half the quest helmets require completion of a quest. The exceptions to this are Creeper Mask (partial completion of Creeper Infiltration - the quest itself is required for ToL), Clearlight Spectacles (partial completion of Finding the Light - untradeable but otherwise wearable, though you can't skip Taproot) and Purified Helmet of Legends (partial completion of ToL - required to enter Corrupter of Worlds' lair, unfortunately).

    Endgame needs more content.

    Fruma, being the origin of the player, would require an entire version on its own, as it would require exceedingly high amounts of effort from CT. 2.0?

    New TFA seems very interesting. All I have to say.

    Is this is the longest we’ve gone after an update where we know absolutely nothing about the next one with no teasers or anything?

    Anyway, the next update should be a content update. We’ve had a bit of a “schedule” where the updates went from content-revamp-content (e.g. Gameplay update, Corkus, Dungeons and Discoveries), but that was thrown out the window with the economy update due to “unfortunate circumstances”. To compensate for two consecutive revamp updates, I’m expecting the next one to be mostly content, with quests, secret discoveries, boss altars, and dungeons put in misc. places that desperately need them, such as a certain province that starts with G and rhymes with “travel”.

    I honestly can’t think of what the next update could be, other than a general content update/gavel revamp (since we’re definitely not getting fruma/dern). They could left-field us and add a code feature like professions...But what else could they add? Professions were kinda inevitable due to being a staple in other MMOs and offering a solution to “fix” the economy (It really didn’t thus the heavy quotation marks). The only code feature that I want off the top of my head are raids, but at this point, boss altars are a good enough substitute for them.

    I think I’ll end my post here so I don’t get into a tangent, but one more thing: ENOUGH WITH WYNN!! Wynn had almost all of its builds revamped, over 30 secret discoveries, good spread of quests, DUNGEONS, etc. Sure, it still has some fetch quests that aren’t very good, but so many of the fetch quests have been reworked to be at least serviceable that the few remaining stinkers aren’t a big deal. Gavel seriously needs work, and it makes me sad that it’s been neglected for so long.

    We've gone longer without any news before. It's not quite been 4 months since the last update, whereas the previous 2 updates have gone over 6 months with no news.

    Also, I totally agree about Gavel seeming neglected compared with Wynn. Once Wynn has gone the secret discoveries for the jungle/Dernal Jungle, it'll be complete in my opinion.

    Also, I think that The Silent Expanse needs: Boss altars too (not a new idea, I know), Slayer Posts for levels 100, 101, 102, 103 and fast travel via the use of the void holes- there should be a pair linking Lutho and EO, as well as Lutho and Ancient Olmic City.

    (Also, please give us gathering quests in the sky islands for 100+)

    We kinda knew what it was gonna be about
    We knew dern was coming

    Economie maby not that much cuz we thought that was dern or like silens expense but rn we just don’t know whats coming we whould have got a guild update but JP left so we prob not getting that

    or salted had just finished is coding class

    Just throwing a thought out there, since they are now working on moving to the new infrastructure. I assume if it works well the next or the next next update can be less worried about lagging. But sorry I have no clues regarding to the next update.

    My personal guess is a decay or realm of light revamp; right now they’re the areas that’s gone longest without some form of rework or addition, and they’re in desperate need of help, not to mention both areas have unfinished story lines and dungeons

    My personal wish is either skill trees or an update focused purely around adding a ton of major IDs

    I really hope they tie up loose ends with lore: finish/remove unfinished lore stuff like gales tomb, add stuff like orphions tomb, and generally reconsolidant lore and make it more consistent. The latest update had so much cool lore stuff, if we could get the whole thing to tie in neatly with the rest of what we know(for example, bak’al is apparently a servant of the eye? This would make him an agent of darkness. However, he is shown to be a leader of the corrupt, which has always been a mindless force, specifically stated to be separate from darkness)

    Oh and more major ids would be very, very cool

    More Major IDs are a given anyway, since more Fableds might be added. This, bearing in mind, that there are currently very few Fableds in game.

    I'm also all for the lore having very loose ends that need patching. Gale, Ohms, Lero etc. all need extended lore besides the mere snippets we get from items, as well as consistency in lore for consistency sake (as with Bak'al example - do note that after his defeat by Bob, my speculation is that Bak'al retreated to the Silent Expanse and started serving an unnamed and unknown Beast of Darkness).

    I just realized that we know that a shaman major ID is guaranteed since it’s the only class to not have one yet
