Should I Waste My Time Crafting Everything?

I've been grinding a lot recently trying to keep my crafting (minus weaponsmithing since I'm a shaman) up to par with my level, but it's taking way too much time and not letting me really do quests. I've asked around a bit and looked at other posts and it seems that the general census is to either skip crafting or only craft armor, because it's OP end game. So far (I'm combat lvl 54) I've only used consumables that I craft, but I want to go from crafting 7 things to crafting maximum 3 things (different professions). Is it worth it for me to keep woodworking tailoring and armoring up to my level or should I skip woodworking and swap it for alchemism or scribing? At least right now I only really see myself using consumables and I don't care too much for jewelry, but I just want more opinions on what I should do.
I guess my final question is should I keep my armor and weapon the same as my level or keep my armor and potions the same as my level?

Assuming this is your first playthrough, don't do professions at all until you're basically done with the class (level 100-103 ish imo)
They make the grind so much more than it has to be, and take SO much time to level up in the later levels (like several hours a level).
Just don't bother at all, they are completely unnecessary for a playthrough and don't really even do that much until you're endgame.

 

So do you think it's worth not even crafting at all as opposed to keeping a profession?

 

just enjoy the game and skip professions. you can do them later when you truly see what you get out of them and how to do them efficiently. the grind of professions gets worse and worse as you level up.

 

The only sense of professions is that you get better armor for the specific level than dropped from monsters. Until you get to lv.105 you won't need it. It's simply not worth the time you invest in it until lv.105
