Stuck On A Mini Quest

There's a miniquest where you have to keep the pirates away from the gate of a castle at (-853, 120, -2463) for 2 minutes and then an old man said to meet him in the courtyard.I got sidetracked and go in to the house and when I come out the old man is not there anymore.My question is"Is there any way to redo the quest and if not,what happen if I met him in the courtyard?"

 

It is fairly possible you encountered a World Event, which are one-time things that happen when you go to the area it is in. There is no way to re-do them, so if this is the case, you are out of luck. Fortunately, World Events do not affect gameplay by any degree, so you woudn't miss much

 

Do you know what happen if I talk to the npc?

 

What is your general location(ex. Dernal Jungle, Selchar, etc.)? That might help me determine what this is

On the tip of a mountain range just past Katoa ranch
also it was indeed a world event triggered by approaching the gate.

 

All you do is kill a few pirate attackers and get access to a farm where you can grind farming
