Why Does Shaman Lose So Many Items?

So I didn't see a search function, Im sure I missed it. Either way, I hope im not re-asking a question and if I am, then sorry.

So at 11 soul points, which is the max for me right now, how come I lose insane amounts of items?

All 4 of my other classes lose practically nothing at max soul points, im fine losing a couple of ingredients i didn't care about those anyway.

But my shaman, when he dies at max soul points, I lose like half my armor, maybe an accessory, half of my unidentified items, I lose like everything.

Im assuming this isn't a bug, I just want to know if there's a specific reason why this is

 

if you're using hardcore or hunted mode, you lose more items
