I got a lvl 1 horse from the quest, bought another lvl 1 horse and took a few days training both horses to lvl 10 so I could breed them. Can you guess what happened? I put both lvl 10 horses together in crafting to breed them and I got a lvl 1 horse. So, paid for a horse, spent a few days training 2 horses, bred them at lvl 10 and ended up with one lvl 1 horse? Why is that even possible result? If I breed two horses I should end up with three horses. But if we must accept that if we breed two horses we get one then surely two lvl 10 horses can't make one lvl 1 horse. Surely two lvl 10 horses must make, at the lowest, a lvl 11 horse? Wouldn't the result of two lvl 10 horse breeding be one horse between lvl 11 to 20. I don't get it, I truly don't! I can get this result every time so what's the point? Now I know why I hardly see players on horse back.

As strange as it sounds, horse levels don't matter for breeding. When two horses are bred, you have a 20% chance to upgrade to the next tier, a 50% chance to stay the same, and a 30% chance to go back a tier (for example two chestnuts have a 30% chance to turn into a black horse). It's very tricky and money consuming, especially at a lower level. I recommend you to just buy horses from the marketplace since you know what you'll get! :D

Do you have any idea how many things in games make no sense? The system makes higher horse rarities alot harder to get which is the point of it.

Congratulations, you found out why people always recommend buying horses and not breeding them!

He is simply stating that you do not need to level up your horses to breed them
Horse breeding is a gambling game, people make profit out of it or lose large amounts of money from it. If you don’t like to gamble or take risks you should buy horses from the market

How I read this post :

If your father is a body builder and your mother a body builder, when you're born, you should be a bodybuilder +1.

Man, you just came to life, you can't even walk, you really think you're going to pull a car with your bare hands ?

But irl we do breed top race horses with other top race horses cos the offspring is often genetically superior. And in the end we do have 2 adult horses and one foal not one foel only and both parents vansh into the ether. Same goes for genetically superior dogs, cats, bees, camels and other creatures great and small. As for my father, he's a mouthy fault finding preachy Reverend and my mother was a short chubby quiet lady. So which genetics do you think I got?

well... you can totally offer a suggestion for a new horse breeding suggestion that includes genetics. But for now theres no point in doing that. Do you think training horses can improve their alleles to make their net breed stronger? its currently all by luck. breeding genetically superior animals requires selective breeding. which is, taking the best of their kind and breeding to make a new generation that is improved. Right now you have no way to tell if they have better chromosomes and genetics and stuff so its just pure luck

    Ouch

    I mean,

2 creatures breeding for a better one is a fact, as you said it exists, but that doesn't always works, a lot of off spring are sold because they don't have the genes they need, and that's how Wynncraft works, you either got better by having both good genes (rarer), mostly the same (common) or worst (very rare). You just clarified yourself.

As for what I said, it's a newborn, even if it has the right genes, it still needs training, so yes, he starts at level 0.

or just buy tons of browns (some on the market can be even cheaper) and breed them

well... for starters, this is a video game in a video game with magic and stuff. So you can't really use the "unrealistic" word here.

and i think genes work like that, you breed 2, and most likely you'll get the same result/mix (the 50% rate to get the same horse), or it will change a bit, for better (20%) or worse (30%). which is pretty realistic.

I can tell you some of the reasoning behind the system.
you don't get to keep the "parents" because that would just let you make infinite horses.
you have a chance of failing the breed so it wont be too cheap (16le for a chestnut is fine)
horse xp doesn't transfer to the new horse or help the breeding process because it is gained from training, its not genetics.
