Heart Of Llevigar- Mistake

For stage 8 of the quest, I'm supposed to find the Head Engineer again. I guess it didn't show up, or maybe I skipped it, but I was back at the start of the quest with Zenam instead. I can't find a way to get back to the Head Engineer, as the game thinks I'm on stage 8 still, but I've already left the area. I won't be able to complete the quest without talking to the Engineer. Can anyone help me with this?

 

Have you tried going back into the engine room via the sewer entrance in the main square?

 

Yeah, but it opens up the entrance to the sewers and then immediately closes it when I land.

 

I think it's because you're not hitting the ground fast enough? Did you stand directly on the block that is pulled by the piston when hitting the button? If nothing works, try getting someone on the same server as you to hit the button while you stand on the entrance (you stand in the tunnel [on top of the opening] while they hit the button on the top floor)

I feel quite dumb. I had been waiting a couple of seconds before jumping down, which is why it closed. Thank you for helping, I managed to get back in lol
