Confused With Mining System?

Hi, so it's been sometime since I last logged on, and when I went to start gathering materials for crafting, I noticed the system got changed to no longer need refineries. Only problem is, after getting a little over a stack and a half of gold ingots I'm unable to get anymore? I mined about 30 gold ore, maybe just a little less, before giving up because it kept failing to refine. Have I either hit a huge string of bad luck or is there a set limit on how much I can get in a certain time period?

 

Instead of refineries, tools now have durability. If you hover over your pickaxe, it should say X/100 durability or something along those lines. If you're at 0 durability, you can't gather any more resources, but you can still mine and get XP. You need to repair your tools at the blacksmith with scrap.

 

Uggghhhh that's a little frustrating. But I get it I guess, thanks!
