    Am bored. am ftb. am needing to do some stuff to help the community, so I did some math. At level 1 cooking, crafting a level 1-3 recipe with all T1 materials, I received an average of 20 xp/craft. Ok, cool, so why does this bother me?

    A cool man named newracket came along and put a wrench in my plans for calculating the amount of XP gained while crafting. He has level 103 cooking, and crafted the same level 1-3 recipe with all T1 materials. He received an average of 10 xp/craft.

    This means that there is a regression, which I did not expect, especially browsing other's attempts at making a formula for calculating crafting xp. Ok ftb, more data. (side note: please send me more data too i'm out of gudgeon meat)

    With a comparatively smaller data set (like 10 crafts), I received about 14-15 xp/craft at level 19 cooking, all with the same recipe and materials. Another friend named J-something took his level 75 cooking after graciously giving me even more gudgeon meat and found that he gained about 11-12 xp/craft. Hmmmm, ok, sounds like a linear, non exponential equation?

    Yeah no. Regression analysis gives us a pretty awful equation for our line. The only point we have 100% certainty of is gaining 100% xp (y=100) at level 1 (x=1). A logarithmic regression analysis using the same points:

    (1,100)
    (20, 72)
    (75, 55)
    (103,50)

    grants us......
    a (-)0.9961 correlation. This means it's pretty close, bringing our (raw unrounded) equation to:

    y = 100.998 -10.629ln(x)

    obviously, 100.998 is level 101, or our *theoretical* y value at x=1. Multiple problems exist with this equation, the first being that you do not get 101% fishing crafting xp at level 1, and that at level 5 (x=5) you would likely get more than 84% of what you received at level 1 (or maybe I am wrong?). The only other close expression fitting our data points is a quadratic (which also has some serious problems when passing levels like 140+):

    y = 98 - 1.11x + 0.00642x^2 (x squared)

    This took about 3 hours. TLDR, wynncraft crafting xp is weird and they added regressions to make it harder for me to do my job.

    ye there’s a “decay” after some amount of levels in one resource and then it stops at a different point

    I haven't forgotton!

    XP: 9, 13, 10, 14, 13, 13, 11, 12, 10, 12, 13, 12, 13, 13, 12, 13, 10, 13, 13, 12

    12.05 xp per craft at lv 131.

    Are you sure the average is 10 xp/craft at lv 103? How many was crafted?
