I Know This Is The Second Time Now, But Another Quest Screwed Up: How Do I Fix It?

So I was doing the last Dwarves and Doguns, #4, when I, well died, during the part where you need to get to the alter to prevent Garaheth from being summoned...

I am having trouble, should I say... Getting back...
I tried going to the Dogun Village, but as it turns out, the action was futile and now I remain in a state of confusion.

It says, "Reach the Portal and prevent Garaheth from being summoned."

 

then try going back to altar

 

Yeah, I tried that.
I figured it out finally though, after like an hour.
I watched a video of the quest walk-through and backtracked my way to Rodoroc where you have to go up a statue. That reset part of the quest and allowed me to do it.
Thank you anyway though!
