Media Chest Afking Is A Plague

Seriously tho, every time I go out for a loot run I always see players afking on chests (there's a lot of safe areas) maybe we should address some of them to discourage players from afking for chests. Because almost nearly every t3 t4 chests are guarded by some kind of hostile mob to prevent players from afking, however, a lot of the new area don't have that.
Players are able to swap class to obtain the key they need to get in the chest area and able to afk there with minimum offensive gear when the key is not meant to be obtained in that fashion.

If amadel afk farming for mythics is not okay, afking for chests should not be allowed either

Does it matter? If there is a problem, it's unleveled chests.

 

There's 2 tier 3 1 tier 4 chests that are unguarded, any level character can be placed in there safely I don't see any problem at all getting free mythic after watching youtube for 20 min

 

So the problem is that the chests are unleveled, not that people are afking at the chests.

 

The place you're referring to is at the silent expanse, so low level players will not be able to access those 3 chests

 

Afking isnt even effective though. Just by running around an area and all the cave systems with a semi-looting build you can open several tier 3 and 4 chests within like 15 minutes, while the AFKer is still watching his cringe compilation video (in which he belongs, too).

There is a glitch in the game that will allow any level character get into the silent expand area(which Im not going to state ) and all you have to do is play escort till the class is in the chest area which is safe to afk, trust me I've seen low level in that chest area when I was loot running. This is why I'm raising this concern.

 

Chests are useless unless they're old anyway, if you open a fresh t4 don't be surprised when you get 4 emeralds, a heal pot and maybe a unique stick. Of course this is with 250% LB.

 

ppl afking chests are kinda a symptom of how abysmal loot chest mechanics are in their current state. i won't disagree that it's obnoxious but i don't think it should be disallowed and it's not comparable at all to amadel afking

 

It's not terribly different from doing a regular loot run, except that it sacrifices the opportunities of looting other chests on favor of easily getting loot from one chest. The total profit made in a given amount of time is probably lower, but less effort is expended, so that's fair.

5291 ÷ 3 chests in that room = 1763.666666667
1763.666666667 x 24 minutes to open all chests = 42328 minutes to find a mythic
42328 ÷ 60 minutes in an hour = 705.466666667 hours to find a mythic

You can get into a questlocked area as a low level.

Not to mention you can reach chests you’re not supposed to reach. How is that not exploitable, at least to some degree?
