Guide The History Of The Wynncraft Server - Discontinued

Before you ask, yes, I plan on updating this for the 1.19 release. However I'm still waiting for the "dust to settle" community-wise, not to mention this project isn't a huge priority for me at the moment compared to other things. Will try to have the thread updated by the end of 2019 but no promises.

 

I am not sure if this was mentioned before or if you are aware of it, but Zuikaku was previously named J6Unlimited and was a moderator for Wynn

 

My memory from the past is quite rusty but there’s two minor changes that could be changed. I’m not quite sure if you didn’t want to specify or not so sorry.

1. Nobody got to lvl 70 through the Jungle. Most people back then were farming in the Jungle non-stop until one day somebody found a glitch in the Silverfish Dungeon. There was some blocks on the left (or right) of the Dungeon that you could glitch through using your Horse. This brought an easy and fast path to the boss which gave tons of exp, so much that it wasn’t worth farming in the Jungle any longer. (There was also this one night I checked the Leaderboards and Acer was lvl 70 on 3 classes, the next morning it reset and I heard he got scolded by the admins for doing something.)

2. This second thing is more minor (and I don’t remember exactly when this was) but there was yet another glitch, this time with the Animal Dungeon. The Dungeon dropped gear/weapons of the next Update (a group and I confirmed it w/ Grian), so I was tasked to farm there (for some reason I forgot). I was tired so I gave the task to someone else I knew but he leaked it and everyone was farming the Dungeon for the items. If someone of the past remembers this then add a little more specifics to what happened cuz I don’t remember.

Holy hell, I didn't expect to see such a memory trip on the forums.

One thing to note: I don't know whether this was mentioned previously on the thread, but during the pre-Quest Update age, the Jungle still existed, albeit it was a dirt wasteland inaccessible to anyone. And, the mountains around the map could actually be crossed, granting players access to vanilla carrots from vanilla villages and other things like that. I might even have a screenshot of one.

This is a really nice thread, and I read all of it. Nice read. However I feel that you should add the 101 leveling thing that happened right before the economy update.

At last, I have updated the thread with Silent Expanse info. Kinda. I probably missed some stuff since I edited it late at night, but I plan on doing revisions for the whole thread sometime soon.
I also decided to start calling this current period of Wynncraft the "Professions Era", since I feel like this new feature has been an important part of 2019.

 

I finally made it on the History page... In some way.
Need to work harder.

Wow! This has been a throwback!! I can't believe how far the game has come! I started in the early game part 2 ish area but my highest class was a level 60ish warrior. I was never super active on the forums, but I remember sitting around in the vip village and grinding in the jungle, one day hoping to get the chance at going in the ToL or fighting Bob! Thanks for putting this all together!!

It was actually me who unpinned this.

Been thinking about it for a while, and I felt like it didn't really make sense for it to be pinned when so many other guides weren't. None of the information in this thread is essential compared to say, a guide about the marketplace or a list of prof grinding spots. And honestly, I've always felt like this thread was pushing the limits of what can be considered a "guide" in general. Besides, a lot of stuff in here is my opinion (such as standout events and threads, for instance), and having that in a stickied post felt weird. I can't deny that having a thread get pinned was awesome, but I honestly expected it to be removed after 3 days. So I figured I'd unpin it now myself for all the reasons I just listed, if some admin wants it to still be pinned I guess I'm fine with that though (and it's not like I can really oppose that). The thread's still in my signature and it seems to get bumped by the community a lot, so I'm not worried about my thread dying out.
