Doing this would actually make sense since it's supposed to be the 'Main story' line, The Eye isn't going to wait for us to come back in 1 week when we will have a key. Good idea.

While I would usually agree with certain areas being blocked of by dungeons is dumb, it is absolutely valid in this case, considering the Eye is litterally the overseer of Wynn. There is no way in hell you should be able to just walk right by it and progress to Dern without defeating it. I can understand being frustrated by having content blocked off like this, but that argument is invalid in this case.

I totally agree, the wretches do far too much damage and it's dumb that defense counts for nothing. Also, this dungeon is 'supposed' to be for groups to run it, yet when more people run it together, more wretches spawn so we're more likely to fail! That's utter garbage design to be honest. 1 should spawn every 20 - 30 seconds or something like no matter what and they need to have either less health OR do less damage so it's not just a case of high DPS wins and defense/ survivability counts for nothing

I haven’t been hit by the eye’s wretch attack before but I feel like the wretch attack doing 90% of max HP is too much, I think it should be lowered down to at least 50% of max HP

(To clarify: Does the attack always do 90% of a player's max HP, or does it reduce a player's HP to 10% of max?

It does damage equivalent to 90% of the player's current health. So if you only have 2000 hp out of 20000 hp left, you only take 1800hp damage on the next one.

Tbh everyone are just bitching wayyyy too much , the game is a bit hard for once and people are not used to it so it makes sense but you need to remember its an end game boss leading to an end game area , its supposed to be hard.

True, but obviously people are mad because the boss fight favors some classes over others.

Though I think that if we made defense reduce wretch damage it would help greatly. Though, maybe make it a warrior/assassin only thing since mage can heal and shaman/archer can kill the wretch

I completely agree. Though what i don't understand is that this is dungeon. Dungeons, in the sense they are used in wynncraft are meant to be optional. ( I say in this sense as in a game like BOTW the dungeons are the whole point of the game) An example being literally any other dungeon bar the EO. Example being that say the DS Quest suggest that the player must rid the sewer of the plague boss thing, though it doesn't actually force you to do it. If you do you get rewarded, honest pay for honest work, tho in the sense of the EO, i beleive that when(cough if) dern comes, this will be mandatory, unless they don't do it and no progression can then be made. In conclusion, the EO as fun as it is (the first time) and as lore-building as it is, it has been implemented incorrectly, in my opinion, though i personally wouldn't know any other solution being no game-designer

I agree in the sense that people are overreacting, but I believe there should still be a way to counteract the Wretches damage. The easiest solution would be to make defense a factor in the damage you take from it, but it could also come from a mechanic of hiding behind a pillar or something along those lines that reduces the damage from it.

I don't see the design problem as warrior. I beat Eye with 15K HP Ignition Warrior and wretches weren't a problem since my warrior defense was more than enough to keep me alive after 90% attack. Just quick potion chug at the moment 90% attack happens and you can go back to fight. Perhaps Melee Assasins might have a little more problems because of lower base defense.
It's either - you have enough damage to kill Wretches or you have enough health/defense to hold through that 90% attack.

I would say my main problem with the dungeon ist that its basically an internet connection test.
The sandstone bridge is pretty trivial if you just run through on your horse, unless you get overrun by mobs before they even load for you.
Dodging the eyes lasers is pretty trivial, unless you lag in the wrong moment. Especially the dodge-section with the five lasers is basically a no-brainer (considering it isn't even random, but follows the same pattern every time) and can litteraly only kill you through lag and bad luck.
Even the Wretches are not that much of a problem, because as others already said, with a somehow tanky build and a good sustain, you can just heal back up, even after a 90% health cut. Unless, again, you get hit by lag in the wrong moment. To be honest, i think the damage should only be around 50%-75%. If you don't have sustain, thats still damage you don't want to take and if you have good sustain, it shouldn't make much of a difference anyway, but makes it more forgiving to players with a bad connection.
And then there is the issue that each time a new phase begins, it will often take some time until the mobs load for you if you have a bad internet connection. In this time, you can only try to spam heal and pray.

To sum it up: While i really like the general concepts of the dungeon, there are just too many things than can kill you basically instantly and are so easy to avoid (if you understand how the dungeon works, which you should after like 2 runs) that whether you get hit or not doesn't really depends on your build or skill, but mainly on the lag.
And besides that, while i think that scaling the strength of a boss with the amount of players is a good mechanic, it shouldn't be so drastic that if you don't want to get one-shot, you have to split up your group to be able to do a supposed group dungeon.

Having a ton of mobs in one area can cause some connection problems for people with poor connections or slower computers. The room is meant to be taken slow; the mobs only spawn as you pass specific spots, and they take tons of knockback, so the intent is for you to knock them away as you go, and they fall into the pit and disappear. If you do that, the room is very easy and you wouldn't have that kind of issue whatsoever; it's just that people are so inclined to skip everything with their horses that it seems the intent was lost.

Maybe I wasn't specific enough, what I mean is the beginning of the room, right where you spawn. If you solo the dungeon it isn't problematic because the mobs haven't spawned yet, as you explained. But if you are in a group and people did the room right before you, they have already spawned the mobs, so when you enter, they can overrun you while your computer is still loading them.
If you know the other people, you may be able to coordinate so that they kill everything behind them or everyone enters at the same time, but with random people, this is problematic.

The first time I solo'd, I used an air Morrowind mage. I thought the boss' defs would completely destroy my build, but some skill pots (not legit, I know) made the whole thing fairly easy.

Another part of this was that I knew what to expect. I study a challenge before I take it so I can be prepared - and you can believe that I binged videos and scanned through forum posts for several days.

I’ve just got to say this dungeon requires a half descent amount of skill or a pretty good build. I managed to 1v1 it on my first run completely blind with my warp mage and than I 1v1ed it on my second try with my damage based guardian build. For my mage I did not use any pots at all and my warrior went in with 10 hp pots but only ended up using 3. I beleave this dungeon is all about knowing how to use your class and dodge the bosses attacks. EDIT - quick tip, Ranged attacks are the best way to kill this thing and avoid the lasers. My spell warrior took it down using war screams that cost 1 mana and do 1.2k damage per hit. So I ended up doing a average of 6k damage per attack.
