What I think is most important in Wynncraft currently is the lore and how it’s all tied together. I was really hoping that 1.19 would give us a lot more information than it really did. The secrets, for example, had a lot of information that we already knew about (death being an impostor, the conflict of the Twains) and things that we did not know much about were left very vague: e.g. the Olm… We still know barely anything about the Olm; was the ruined city their only stronghold? How did their time magic work? Why could the Olm be defeated so easily? Etc. etc. It’s time for Wynn to give their lore some rules. I call it the NICS rule:
N: Novelty. Is the information we are given new or do we know this already?
I: Importance. Is the information we are given meaningful? Does it progress the lore in any way?
C: Continuity. Is the information we are given coinciding with other lore? Does it contradict anything?
S: Substance. How much information is given to us? Is there enough information to actively do anything with or is the reader still left in the dark?
If final discoveries abided these rules they would be a lot better IMO. An example of low substance is the SE ultimate discovery. Even though we discover some big things, we can barely do anything with it because everything is left so vague. It’s an ultimate discovery; give us some more lore than just “look this bad guy is actually working for another bad guy” and nothing else.
Then there’s the nesaak ultimate discovery which lacks in importance. Don’t get me wrong, the cinematics are great and it’s good for character development, but everything that happens during the cutscene has nothing to do with the “downfall of the Twains”. It would have been cool if you guys showed us how Dwendle and Rickeo were defeated by corruption, or to actually introduce them at all.

This was originally going to be part of a large thread I wanted to make about future update suggestions/predictions but I accidentally made this rant about discoveries... I don't hate them and I want more of them but I still have my issues with them.

P.S. WHOEVER MADE THAT 2 PLAYER REQUIREMENT IN FATE OF THE OLM GO DO BOB'S LOST SOUL SOLO why. why would you add this to the discovery!? And it's just one part you just need that extra player for one flippin part how could you be so cruel to add that to a discovery that would be perfectly fine without it just to fuck with us you monster

Don't assume that the flaw of one discovery immediately makes all of the other discoveries equally as bad.

Do the nesaak master one, it's great for the cinematics

It actually does tie the lore a bit, it suggests that these two evils have a symbiotic relationship of sorts, not just bad guy work for bad guy

Err, sure, but I think more of a downfall of them mentally is a bit better than them being blasted to bits by Bak'al or them foolishly walking near the portal

The lore makes more sense than you think, I wrote something about the War of the Realms a little while back but it got no traction.

I will say that discoveries lore importance varies, such as in the Silent Expanse where one discovery (Space Between Realms) is more lore heavy than the Ultimate Discovery. I wish this wasn’t the case but honestly I think that it is better to have a cutscene for it than simply lore as it is the Ultimate Discovery for the area and should be worth doing even for those who don’t care about lore.
