Old Druid

Has anybody else seen the old druid on tree island? The other day I went there to check it out and there was an NPC called Old Druid who comes up to you randomly and talks to you before digging himself into the ground, revealing that he is dead. Yesterday I returned to the island with a friend and we sat there for like 10 minutes. We pretty much gave up on him and I climbed up the big tree on the island when suddenly he said: "Huh? Old Druid?" I jumped down to see but he was not visible on my screen. I just find this really weird and nobody really talks about it, there is also nothing about it on the Wynncraft Wiki. If anybody wants to check it out it's on an island off the coast of Gavel with a big tree on it at about X= -400, Z= -3815. I think he only shows up at a certain spot. I think that spot is at a little pit- looking thing with a chest in it at the very base of the tree. I unfortunately did not take a screenshot as proof but I'd like to know what others think. Tell me if you encountered him and maybe try to get a screenshot.

 

I believe this is one of those one time only events that happen once per class added in 1.18 called world events. You didn’t see it when you went back because the event is client sided meaning only the person that the event is only viewable by the people who have never seen it.

 

Yep. If you look up world events on Wynncraft wiki, old druid comes up as one. Thanks for that, I was wondering what significance it had. There are other ones that I will now search for. Thank you!

 

I saw someone lift up a rock into the air, revealing a cave with a loot chest, when I went to Mage Island the other day. I don't know if it's another world event but it's worth checking out.

 

That is indeed a world event. I already did check out the mage island one after I found world events on the wiki. There is a pretty dark one near Ternaves where in a small mine (not the abandoned ones, but a small ruin just east of Ternaves) where an old miner straight up kills himself with TNT after going insane and losing his miner friends. Behind the wall he blows up is a room with more dead miners like him and a loot chest. There are more, such as a cannibal ambush in Dernel Jungle where a guy tries to vaporise you but is brutally murdered by the cannibals after his spell fails and it makes a bang that alerts them. He is literally ripped apart and eaten before your very eyes. After that you have to kill the cannibals before they eat you. Then there is also a mansion out on that big coastal land structure near Coastal trail and Legendary Island and if you somehow manage to get there you have a fight where you defend the gate to the mansion from pirate raiders (the durability system is similar to that of the incoming boats cannon defense thing in Galleon's Graveyard) but all you get for defending the mansion is a safe farming spot with Millet. In the mansion is a crystal that is never commented on by the mansion's owner. There are 2 more in gavel but one of them is wrongly mapped by Wynncraft wiki because for some reason they decided to say it was some coordinates on Mage Island when it is actually supposed to be at Lake Gylia. Then there is one in the canyon of the lost, i hate those damn canyons so i will just not bother there. Perhaps more will be added in 1.19? I don't know if they qualify as Secret Discoveries or not...

 

Just found Gylia farmer. He's at the lake gylia map. When watching his, pay attention to the background in conjuction to what he says. The aim of this world event, i presume, is to teach the player about the Gerts.
