So what's new?

Frigging everything! We got a new site up, new swanky visuals, oh god everything is so new and shiny. Well...more or less.

I started from almost zero coding experience before this project so the website is bit FUNKY. But from my testing, I'm PREEEEETY sure that the important bits work (form submission and waypoints download).

Here are the issues I am currently aware of:

• The map doesn't display the chests
• The map also needs to be updated

So how do I use this?

The site lets you submit the waypoints for T3 and T4 chests and allows you to download waypoint files containing all the T3 and T4 chests currently compiled in our database.

So what's new?

Currently not much, I have elected not to bring the original site back online and instead implement a new site. But due to the upcoming update, I wanted to provide a method for people to submit chests as well as have access to the library of waypoints.

As such, I have a made a Google form to facilitate chest submissions as well as a folder containing copies of waypoint files for the mods: Journeymap and Xaero's Minimap. A folder for the Wynntils map exists as well, but needs to be fixed in order to be usable. Instructions as to how to use the files are included. I will ensure that the files are up to date.

Please, please submit chests, boss man said I won't get paid if I don't meet deadlines this quarter.

But stay tuned, a new website will be arriving soontm, hopefully. College finals are coming and o h b o y, turns out knowing the spawn coordinates for Mama Zomble isn't useful in figuring out the equivalence point of a chemical reaction.

Also the fact that I'm still learning how to code a website might be slowing progress a tad bit. BUT I AM COMMITTED, unlike my father to his marriage.

What's ahead?

The goal is to first bring up a barebones website as well as a database backing it up. Then we start adding new features. I would like to include a map for ingredients and materials as well as one day even T1 and T2 chests. And then maybe a rich silicon valley investor will buy the project and daddy Shoefarts can sit back and relax and spend all the money on bitcoins. Nah jk.

But for now, we are full steam ahead boys.

Very glad to see this project is still running even after so long! :D

Considering how I often lack the commitment in many projects, it is so awesome to see the raw dedication all of you peeps pour into this work to bring the project this far. I think I suffer from burnout very easily, meaning that it doesn't take long for me to begin losing interest in the work I do, so I know for a fact that a project like this that involves a ton of lengthy work wouldn't have made it that far if it was just me running it.

Proud to be an "inspiration", but the hard work so far has all been from you all. Keep up the good work!

Small update. I have a new database set up and the domain has been acquired. Just gotta get a website prototype up and running. :D

Is that...

Wynntils updated today and it seems like the configs got changed in said update, now I cannot properly import these chest locations anymore, it just keeps automatically overwriting the config back to my old settings no matter what I try.

Edit:
A friend of mine gave me their wynntils waypoints with chest locations, I know for sure this one should work, but yet it keeps overwriting this one as well, so I really wonder why it is doing this and how can I prevent/fix this?

 

Sorry dude, I don't really understand the Wynntils waypoints, I wasn't the one who wrote up that file.

 

After the wynntils update, I did a few tests and I don't think inserting the config file works anymore since I think they're storing your waypoints in the cloud and only using your config file as a backup. You need to import either manually or using the import function where you copy the waypoints to your clipboard, then clicking on the import button in waypoints. I couldn't find any way to convert the config file to the text file, probably due to the fact that I suck. So I did it manually as over half my waypoints were wiped on the update :/

I have a zip file attached with a notepad with the waypoints on it. I haven't checked if all the waypoints are correct or not, but take this anyways. You just copy the text in the notepad and click import in wynntils.

A really, really early prototype of the website is currently live at wynnwaypoints.tk (don't worry, you won't get hacked).

It is absolutely not usable whatsoever right now, but if you guys want, you can check in from time to time to see the slow, slow progress being done on it.

Is there a way for me to have the "always show" option on the way points? Cause I do not want to go through 130 chests...
