You know they need? Variety! A reason to be USED!

Look, I bet all of these rooms are gonna be FILLED with the Silent Expanse. That's gonna be great. Or I hope so, anyway.

However, now, they aren't used that much. And, a guy called Monzter gave me an idea, that I feel really lends to the games design of Wynncraft. So, consider this!

Wynncraft thrives by being a game where you share information with others. Many events in-game explicitly (very obviously) display this: notably, I believe Bob's Tomb requires more than one person to open, and the ??? quest originally had lots of discussion amongst people, trying to figure it out. Correct me if I'm wrong! And the Silent Expanse right now, has got loads of people talking and theorising.

This is also shown implicitly (super less obvious): Finding out there is a Jewelling station in Ragni, which I only found out by talking to other players. Throwing a tear in the Ragni fireplace, another time that was told to me. And things I've shared with others: locations of cool places, interesting builds, and today, even the fact that you could sell junk items to the Blacksmith got a few old players going "Oh wow that's cool!".

And it's those little things that make Wynncraft. So, this thread actually has a secret suggestion in it, haha, to the Wynn team: make sure you continue to appeal to this side of Wynncraft.
The side where (once the player learns how to play the basics through the tutorial, which needs a clean up, coughcoughthreadonthatsoon)), the player shares experiences with other players, learn secrets from others, ask about the locations of oak fields or gold mines, or great grinding spots, or things you could do that you never even realised.
That's one of the very cool parts of Wynn!

My point with this? *Discord* is a perfect place for this sort of discussion! A perfect place to find these things out!
But sadly, these rooms are rarely used. I think, yeah, fine, keep a general room or some private rooms, but people need a reason to join the rooms just from the name alone.

So here's my suggestion: Rename the rooms!
A small change like this could really enhance the Wynncraft experience for many people. It'll give a reason for people to actually use the rooms, and it really fits in thematically with Wynncraft's ideas of sharing information with others!

You could rename it like this:

Personally I think this naming system kinda sucks, but it's still better than the rooms we have right now...
Or something like this:

I think something like this is REALLY cool, because it encourages people that are in close levels to join together and discuss as they play the game.

Anyway, even if people don't end up using these renamed rooms, they are at least a lot more interesting than the voice rooms we have right now, appeal more to the theme of Wynn, and really could enhance the Wynn experience for a lot of people.

That sounds cool! I think that already existed ages ago, actually, but it wasn't used much. I could be wrong.
That being said, maybe people just needed a better reason to join, or some dedicated players to actually join these voice channels. ^^

With RtD coming back it'd probably be much more used! Also you need to change Nesaak-Desert area to Nesaak-Jungle area

Haha, oops, that's right - but again, it's just a mockup of an idea, not an actual thing.

Also gonna call out @Lemon Noire who voted no! I'd love to hear your reason why you voted that. I assume the people that voted yes just agree with my points, or have added additional points in posts. :P

 

I don't think the basic and private rooms should be renamed, and should keep its general non-specific purpose rather than be turned into rooms for specific purposes (like the level specific channels) . I definitely would not be opposed to adding rooms for what you propose instead of replacing the general ones.

 

I can agree with that! I still don't know if so many private rooms are needed, but I definitely do think that some private rooms and general rooms should stay. They can exist alongside the Wynn-specific rooms. Nice addition!

 

fantastic idea! I would have never thought of this. I really like how it would encourage more players to join the discord and I would love to see it super active!
