So.. RTD is crazy, spooky place. Right?

Salted posted month ago some fine RTD sneak peak. As we can see RTD is mostly done.

I think Road to dern might be next halowynn update.

Bold of you to assume it’s ever coming.

 

I don't think it'll be ready by Hallowynn as that's only 2 weeks away and we're yet to get anything more than a teaser. I expect we'll get another teaser later this month, with a trailer/changelog not too long after and then a Beta following that. I'd like to think that we'll get it this year, but I thought the same thing about 1.18 in 2018, so you never know...

My prediction since the Noisy Silence teaser is that we're going to get another teaser in the form of the Hallowynn quest, being something around the Abandoned Mines (perhaps even finally use the prison next to it), in which we're going to open up the entrance to (road to) Dern so it more-or-less has a reason to be opened lore-wise. We would also get to see a few new mobs, and if we're lucky even a few new major ids/lore bombs.

I think RTD won't be this year at all, late January seems like the earliest it could be ready.

RtD update will be released when half life 3 is done.

 

I am guessing that they are further along than you think. They were working on it before 1.18, so they are probably soon™ done.

 

If "fully released" means "live to all players", then I'm guessing early 2020

 

I'm guessing we will get a trailer around now actually.
If we follow trends with when teaser trailers drop vs a full trailer, they tend to be a little less then a month apart.
The economy update for example had the detlas teaser drop a little more then a month before the full one.

 

haven't even gotten in a trailer yet so yet, I'm not optimistic at all. Update at worst would come out at nov and maybe if we're lucky 1 yr after eco update.

 

If we are going by the dates of the eco trailers, then expect the trailer in about 9-10 days.
Not that it will be the same, just going off of patterns.

 

I suspect 1.19 to be a bigger update than 1.18 though so they might post more teasers before an actual trailer to build up some hype (even though I think the relative underhype we have now is pretty good for our expectations)

 

I doubt it, or rather I doubt its bigger.
Sure, it has a larger world space, and more levels, so on. However the eco update fundamentally change some of the mechanics of the game, by most cases, entirely new systems, balancing them, and making sure they work, is far bigger then just adding more content.

Legit though, I'm kinda hyped at the fact that I managed to guess right based on patterns, so if I act proud, thats why.
