Us Dollar To Emeralds Conversion

So I was doing the quest Flight in Distress and I noticed a merchant selling a apple for 2 emeralds and I thought, I could find out conversions from US dollars to Emeralds.

So, 1 apple is worth 2 Emeralds
And in the US a apple is worth $1.32

So after some math and finding conversions of the numbers I got...

$1 US dollar = 1.68 Emeralds!

If i am wrong please tell me

 

Where the fuck do you buy apples that they cost 1.3$ each?

Altho by my calculations (2.5$ per kill and around eight apples in a kilo) an eb will be 10$
