Guide Can Someone Help Me With The Desperate Metals Quest Puzzle?

I've been tampering with this thing for hours and have made no heads or tails of the damn thing. I don't know how to insert pictures, but I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about. i'm not very good with puzzles and this one is frying my brain. Videos I've seen don't help me, as even they take like 20 minutes on that part alone and the images of the answer dont make things easier. can someone please help me in any way shape or form?
