Community Event (ended)(unofficial) Wynncon 2019 Map Reveal

WYNNCON MAP REVEAL
Hello there, Wynncraft community! The Wynncon 2019 Main Map has reached a new milestone in completion and the team wants you to see it!
During the times listed below, you, as an event attendee, will have access to everything that has been built for the main map so far as well as insight into the building process we use (The exact same process that the Official Wynncraft team uses!)
Times:
Tuesday 8/20: 2:00 Pm to 5:00 Pm EST
Thursday 8/22: 2:00 Pm to 5:00 Pm EST

All you have to do is join the server during the above times using this IP: build.wynncon.net
and you have full access to Wynncon 2019!

Spoiler: What is Wynncon?

Wynncon is an unofficial event meant to bring the Wynncraft community together to celebrate the game we all love and have played. The event will have various festivities, games, speeches, and more, with many prizes that are given out in Wynncraft itself!

This year we're making a brand new map featuring many old and many new events. These include Rank and Crate Giveaways, Speeches from famous Wynncraftians, Parkour challenges, PvP arenas using a custom spell-casting plugin, minigames, NPCs, and much more!

You can apply for these positions:
- Builder [Construct buildings and various other features around the map]
- CMD [Make various contraptions and easter eggs around the map to add functionality]
- Developer [Develop plugins for the event, to allow for more features]

make sure it can't lag like a slideshow i enjoyed last year's one but there was too much lag when i came in when it was first opened

I heard some people talking about Wynncon, and I wasn't aware it was an actual thing. It looks good! I hope it goes swell!
As someone mentioned before, terribly timed for Australians, especially because it's in the middle of the school week and at 4am... but hey! I hope you Americans enjoy.

we have since upgraded the server extensively to reduce lag as much as possible

oh yeah also quick question:
is something like the elytra parkour course gonna return? through the lag-filled hell that was the last wynncon i found a little respite in that challenge, and the elytra was nice for getting new views on the beautiful map

 

we do indeed have an elytra base where you can get an elytra and buy fireworks to explore the far reaches of the map, however i cant guarantee that it will be part of the parkour (but its entirely possible, we haven't started building any parkour courses or races yet)

From memory, no time is perfect: Late night American Fridays or Saturdays allows for early morning Australian Saturdays and Sundays respectively. Your time is probably good for the Europeans, though. :) Can't please everyone, unless you do a poll and figure out your audience, I guess, haha.

I remember I used to wake up for events at 1 or 2am my time, which I guess would be 11am or 12pm East Coast American time. Again, can't please everyone - but you can please some! ^^
