I've been thinking, that while some places are amazing for grinding, I can't help but feel as if dungeons offer more exp if you have the keys. Does anyone know whether that is true or not?

A more concrete answer: with the exception of certain endgame areas (mirror cave & dragonling den), dungeons are generally (but not necessarily) better than grinding. However, certain dungeons (specifically csst and ff) are inefficient for exp due to a variety of reasons (being respectively inability to party efficiently and length). However, after some point, the effective efficiency of dungeons plateaus while equivalent grind areas gain efficiency from at-level exp gain. However, by that point, these grinding areas are still seen as inefficient by virtue of requiring more work, despite yielding a higher exp gain.

A lot of times players have Dungeon Bombs going off in any particular server, so there is no need for keys most of the time.
