Media The Gavel Dungeon That Was Never Finished

As promised on the livestream, here's what exists of Mortal Mountain.

Mortal Mountain was going to be a dungeon that you would enter in the Canyon of the Lost. It was worked on before the dungeon system as a whole was revamped, and dropped after the revamp. The dungeon was accidentally put on the Wynncraft Dungeon page for a period of time but was never finished or updated to the new system. These are the builds from the build server for the dungeon.



As you can see, the dungeon's builds were not finished either.

I missed the stream, are there any plans for finishing this dungeon or any of the gavel dungeons?

 

Sadly, no. In the stream we discussed how it didn't align with our new dungeon design philosophies for 1.14.1, among various other issues. Of course, it's not impossible it will be implemented one day, but it's not likely.

Also the building is really nice. I think a dungeon in the COTL in the future would be a good addition. It's a cool location to have something like this. Maybe not this but some more content in COTL would be nice.

 

I love seeing cut content, it's like an insight to what direction the game could have gone. Sometimes the cut content doesn't tell a lot, but other times it can add a whole lot more to the lore.

Finally we know what that was.

But what’s the deal with Dullah’s mansion, the worm pits and Orpheon’s tomb?

The worm pits might be the resource tunnels, but i still feel there’s something missing about the other two.

 

But there is still plans to generally add dungeons to Gavel at some point, right?

 

CotL would be a great place for a boss altar, since there are none between levels 70 and 90. Southwest region would be nice, since otherwise there isn't really a reason to go there (not even on lootruns, since it's the sparsest part of CotL in terms of loot chests).

 

Don't forget to mention the dozens of falling boulders that tried to crush you and spawn mobs to kill you.

 

it looks very dull not a fan of seeing the same colors for 10+ mn straight

 

I think the mortal mountain dungeon should be included as part of the next major update, if it’s possible

 

You mean Dullahan's Castle?
It has grinding spot, high tier loot chest, and lumber yard inside there.

Orpheons tomb still needs something.

 

I remember from the CT stream that the Realm of Light (and assuming Orphion as well) is not getting any updates soon, since the content team doesn't have any plans to work on it for now, or at least something like that.

Which is okay in my opinion, since it would be better to revamp ROL, Orphion, etc. alongside the addition of the main storyline, since Grian said over a year ago how the Realm of Light quests needed the main storyline as well in order to fully understand everything.
