Why would you need to know javascript?

 

Some of y'all don't know that Bill Gates used a command block to create microsoft and it shows

 

in the gm docs, they use .yml files to create quests, and .yml(also known as YAML) is associated with javascript like .json.

 

TIL YAML is associated with JS.

The YML file type is primarily associated with Javascript by YAML. YAML stand for "YAML Ain't Markup Language;". It uses a text file and organizes it into a format which is Human-readable. YAML may be used with multiple platforms of programming languages such as PHP, Python, Ruby, Perl, Javascript amongst others. "database.yml" is a typical example when YAML is used by Ruby on Rails to connect to a database.

 

I hate to be "that guy", but YAML is a data-storage language (Like JSON, or XML). It's much easier to pick up and learn than JavaScript (Which is a scripting language, and as far as I'm aware you don't need to know it to become a GM), so if you were planning on applying for GM, don't hold back because you don't know YAML! For command blockers, how are tasks done? Are they done in regards to like a list of tasks and a command blocker selects a task to work on, or does everyone have their own projects?

 

There is a little of both actually, but you get to choose the projects you work on so you won’t be assigned something you aren’t prepared for or do not have time for.
