About The Community...

Recently (22/06/19) I was hacked. I lost my account and therefore everything inside it (including a LOT of time on Wynncraft as well as endgame gear, mythics, le etc. (I've made a separate post about this).
Anyway, losing over 5 years of progress made me feel incredibly unenthusiastic about restarting everything on my alternate account so I decided to quit...

The last thing I was going to do was go online and say goodbye to a friend ('Emalio') I had recently made with whom I had been doing Legendary Island and other endgame things. I went online with my alt and explained what had happened and then he asked me to come to Detlas. When I arrived, he gave me about 20LE and some amazing loot bonus gear so I could lootrun and try to get some mythics and money.

This gesture was amazing, but I was still starting with so much less than I had and wasn't too motivated to continue. I explained this to Emalio and he suggested gambling it on horses to let fate decide basically.
When I got to Ternaves, some random guy gave me 5 brown horses and a black horse. I then spent about 10le on getting more horses and managed to actually breed a white horse!

Emalio offered to swap it for his 40/40 white horses so I could sell it for more money which I then did.

I then ran some quests to get my classes up in levels and I met 'patatita' who helped me with Reincarnation, Tower of Ascension and with some other bits.

Emalio has since helped me to the extent where I have managed to complete the Hive and reach level 100 on a class already. Patatita has helped me to complete some difficult quests too and has helped me with info on loot runs. Some other random guy gave me horses for no apparent reason other than they seemed to be feeling kind.


There's a few purposes to this thread. Firstly a shoutout and HUGE thank-you to Emalio, Patatita and that random guy who gave me horses, but also that for ages there's been this idea that the community isn't what it used to be; however, in the past 2 weeks or so, I've gone from quitting for good, to being convinced to stay and now be in a reasonable position purely due to the kindness of other players. Even Wynncraft support have been incredibly supportive and helpful!
People are amazing, the people who work on this server and create it for us out of their free time, the people who play it, and especially those who help others - because it really can make a difference to individuals like me.

I may not have my mythics, money, levels, profession levels, ranks, bombs or anything else, but as long as people out there are wonderful, I'll keep playing :)

Thank you for sharing your story! I know many people who have come close to quitting because of unfortunate events like yours, but seeing you persevere solely on the kindness of others was really inspiring

That sucks. But yeah you'd be surprised how kind some people are.

 

Prime example of "after every trough comes a high".
I wish you the best of luck starting over, and yeah, I also met some amazing people through this community. (It's me, pikafan99 if you remember.)
Graz to you for not sulking like bread, not giving up, because I know I might have definitely acted differently. And big thanks to those people for helping their friend in need. There are still some sane people left here.


And to whoever found it necessary to hack someones else's account: I curse you. May your sleeves drop with every handwash taken!

 

And let every door they close catch on their clothing, forcing them to reopen it and find that they have ruined their shirt/pants.

With every door they step through, they shall forget what they wanted, and only just remember it once back in their seat.

 

I wonder if we could make a list of things that happen in Wynn like that. For instance, every time they die they lose that last ingredient that they need for their item.

 

They shall misclick when dropping the 12 scrap they needed into the hopper, throwing their Stratiformis instead.

 

May they spend countless LE on horses, only to come out with 1 brown horse

 

Okay, hearing this story is wonderful and terrifying at the same time.

I think I'm going to be like one of those people preparing for world war 3. Get so much evidence that this account is mine, that even if it does get hacked, I can prove 100% that this account is mine.
Is that too much? I mean, 3 security questions and a pretty hard to guess password...Yeah I'm gonna gather evidence for the past month, so I have a strong case on my side.

 

Sorry about what happened to you originally. And yes there are incredibly kind people. And I’m also misunderstanding this notion that the community isn’t what it used to be. For me I’m someone who came from a really toxic community, this story and the community are wonderful imo

 

i hate this game and think its community is bad but honestly reading this makes me think "i may not like it but there are some good people here" so gg my lad

 

By game do you mean Minecraft or wynncraft

 

I clicked on this thinking that there would be five blocks of text ranting on how bad the community and staff are but this is much better than that. I read your goodbye post and felt bad for you - I don't have any Mythics and am poor for my level, but I'd be really upset if I lost my progress on Wynn. May the hacker open a loot chest, find an unidentified Mythic dagger in it, and then crash.
