Serious So I Graduated

from middle school, nothing too special im not trying to be likebait

but like

i've been in a gifted class (i dont like talkin abt it) w my friends for the past 4 years, and over that time we've gotten super close almost like a family. now we're all splitting off into different highschools and while im proud of my friends for getting into programs i feel like we'll just grow apart because of the stress of daily life and because of the stress that a lot of us feel on a daily basis, be it from our parents or from friendships, or relationships.

i feel like even with our interconnectedness online, we'll still manage to drift apart, and maybe one day the group chat will go silent, and those of us who've gone to different schools will never see each other again.

even those who are going to the same school (like me and some of my buddies) will probably (sadly) grow apart. in high school we're all going in different classes because that's how it works here in canada, and we'll gradually see each other less and less.

and from all the time we've spent together over the years, there was never any need to make new friends because they were always there for me.

i fucking love them, and i just feel like we'll gradually lose our bonds and just become strangers to each other, and after that i feel like we won't be able to make any new friends, and we'll all die alone, chugging a bottle of pills, even before climate change fucks us up.

while I understand the concern that you'll lose touch with your old friends, I certainly wouldn't jump the gun and say you'll never make friends again. If your old friends truly do leave, it just means you now have time to interact with other people and make new friends

Sometimes growing apart can just make the times you are together better. After primary school ended my old friends and I went to different schools so we inevitably started talking less, but that just makes the things we do better because you don't really take them for granted, and understand the value more. If you lose touch, don't worry about it because you can't really change much - it's hard to make you or another person have an interest.
