    I want to start a craftsman character, and was wondering if any class is more compatible with only using crafted weapons than other classes.

    Well, all classes can do about even well with crafted gear. I would recommend mage however, seeing as the only healing you have in craftsman is either from health regen on gear or crafted health potions/food.
