If there is one team in the NBA that can make people hate them more than the Warriors, its the Rockets. A team full of grown men complaining about how the refs screwed them over a year ago rather than focusing at the task at hand. The litterally made a fucking compilation on all the missed calls in game 7 of the 2017-2018 WCF. I didnt watch it, but Im sure they omitted missing 27 threes... in a row... at home. Welcome to the NBA Rockets, full of shitty officiating at every turn, you arent the only team that gets screwed in the playoffs, hell I dont remember the Warriors making a compilation of blown calls in the 2015-2016 NBA Finals game 6.

By the way, all happened before game one, you know what happened after game one? They complained about officiating rather than fixing obvious flaws in time to compete and try to make the Finals. Good ol' Rockets. This bullshit was capped off with an epic choke in game 6 where they lost to a Warriors with the following symptoms:

Even without KD the Warriors still have Steph, Klay and Draymond, regardless of how much of a beast Kawhi is I doubt he'll be able to outplay all 3 of them. O boi. It happened. Toronto got over the hump, and saved everyone from a Warriors 3-peat. Many factors where involved in the Raptors sucsess in this series, mainly, no KD. If the Warriors had KD they would have almost certainly won this series, but ultimately thats just an excuse. We played like total shit this series, one of our 2 wins should not have happened, the only reason we got the game 5 win was because Raptors head coach Nick Nurse is a total fucking idiot. While trailing for pretty much all of game 5 the Raptors made a comeback on the back of Kawhi Leonard (who else?) who scored 10 points in 90 seconds to give the Raps a 103-97 lead late. With all momentum on their side Nick Nurse decided to be a retard and killed that momentum by calling a timeout. After this Steph Curry and Klay Thompson made a combined 3 3s to give the Warriors a 106-103 lead, and the Warriors ended up winning that game 106-105. Another example of the Warriors shit play is going 0-3 at fucking home. In their last series ever at Oracle Arena, we go 0-3 there, absolutely pathetic. Granted we probs would have won game 6 if Klay Thomson didnt fuck up his knee but also, just an excuse. I guess Steph Curry, Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala just isnt enough to close out a game eh Golden State?

Even as a Warriors fan I can find 3 reasons to be glad, or atleast not sad, we lodt the finals this year.

1, I can carry over the joy of Boston losing the SCF.

2, The Warriors fanbase is a spoiled shitbag and deserves this pain.

3, It sends Oakland out on a sour note, which Im totally fine with, cuz fuck Oakland, (You think Oakland is gonna sue the Warriors for moving to SF?)

All in all, I dont really care that much if the Warriors win it all, truth is I just dont care about basketball enough. To put into perspective, If I was to chose between the San Jose Sharks winning 1 Stanley Cup or the Warriors winning 10 NBA Finals in a row, I would pick the Sharks to win a Cup in a heartbeat, and Im not even a big hockey guy.

And now, for tig's finals shoutouts. A now less new way to shine a sporlight on players/moments that deserve more recognition, weather that be negative or positive.

Shoutout to: The Cleveland Cavaliers, for not making the playoffs and sparing us of Warriors-Cavs 5.

Shoutout to: Kevin Durant, for trying to be there for his team even if his calf wasnt 100% resulting in him tearing achilles to shit.

Shoutout to: Nick Nurse, for being a total fucking moron and almost costing the Raps a title. Being an idiot and calling a timeout killing huge momentum allowing GS to force a game 6, which lets be real, if Thompson didnt get hurt the Warriors would have and game 7 would have been a toss up. Like, for real Raps, you need to fire this guy before he actually does cost you a title. You seem to be fine with firing your coach of the year so why not the Finals winner? Bruh did you really put the raps losing in round 1 smh

Also you’re really underestimating how easily Kawhi could’ve defended KD even if he was fully healed. It would’ve gone to 7 but raptors could’ve won nonetheless.
Plus, injuries management is essential for differentiating what makes a player truly great, and the fact KD came back just to get an even worse injury speaks volume for his career and decision making.
Instead of roasting nick nurse how about you talk about the warriors extremely poor choices made during the finals, draymond green’s abysmal performance in game 7, steve kerr agreeing to put KD back, etc. Sure the timeout call was stupid, but the raptors team were playing subpar up until the end of the third anyways. Game 5 was honestly doomed.
It’s really easy to run away with “what if” scenarios but the truth is: it was great basketball on both sides, of course things could’ve gone differently but they didn’t.

 

I had the Raps losing in round one because this team always dissapointed me and even with Kawhi I decided to keep my expectations low.

As for everything else, while Kawhi is absolutely insane, he couldn't "easily" cover Durant, nobody can. And while I still had the Warriors in 6 there was no doubt in my mind the Raps could have won this handily. As for KD playing instead of letting his calf heal, there is nothing wrong with his decision, he wanted to be there for his team and theres nothing wrong with that. There was no way he could have known he was gonna tear his achilles but he did, so the media decided to be the media and act like it was the stupidest decision he could have made, and if he didnt play the game and the Warriors lost the media would have shit on him for not being there for his team. He was in a shitty situation so he made his choise and it happened to be the wrong one. And I wont stop roasting Nick Nurse, what he did was the single dumbest decision in the entire NBA postseason, and while things didnt happen differently this year they very well could next year, and Raps fans should think of that.
