Over the past few days, the item team posted some cryptic teasers (as it is tradition on wynncraft) for a new item update, if we can believe silver's quote here, maybe even the biggest item update yet:

I made this thread here to collect those teasers, which are set to release every other day, and try to speculate a bit. Things we know: It's probably something element-oriented (element survey thread). I think that's it, that's all we know.

    • Now to the teasers themselves, the first one is a neat table of some sort, which was also posted on the element feeback survey thread. This leads me to believe that the rows represent the different duo-elements. I am not sure about the columns however.
The most likely solution is probably that it is a cut-off spreadsheet about dual-elements (10 rows, 10 dual-elements (or maybe even tri-element?)). This is further backed up by the image's appearance in the dual-element-survey-thread. The Xs and Os probably show the dual-elements' representation or execution in the game.

Another attempt at solving it by @Bart (MC): [IMG]
    • The next one is an unlit nether portal. What do you need to light a nether portal? Exactly, fire. And since the portal is unlit, this can only mean the complete removal of fire-themed items. I'm joking, what could it mean?
It probably has nothing to do with Wynn's nether, since the item team is not in a position to change the nether.
Relevant: The nether is represented by thunder/fire items.
    • After that, >this< facebook link to some "Gilded Twilight Tours"-event was posted.
Interesting find from @Bart (MC): The date of the event is 21st of June, maybe a release date?
It could also be a simple future name reference.
    • Teaser number 4:
Maybe another future name reference? (I think I forgot to tag you here @Bart (MC))

      Could also be another dual-element-reference.
    • Teaser number 5:
And some context for this odd teaser from the mirror himself:
Those letters actually stand for "Brian Azzarello, Wonder Woman, Volume 4 #7, DC Comics, 2011, pg 7" (Credits to Discord user @Newdoria).

The takeaway from this teaser is probably the name Hephaestus (especially when looking at the possible solution for teaser 6), who is depicted on this page.
    • Number 6 is here:
This teaser gives us our 2nd Hive teaser. The random numbers are actually an imgur link, leading to this image:
The title of this image is "gateofmemories", if you google that you will find a game with the same name, produced by Anima Studios.

Looking at teaser 5 we can be fairly sure that the update has something to do with the Hive (Item reworks? New ones?).

Additionally, the picture itself has text written in Wingdings on it. After untwining the image, @Mjoll translated the text to the following:
      UCtlTUU

      3DlDbk

      -GhKG6

      tKl9g

We don't know what it means though.

Update: A google search of the characters leads to a youtube channel with the name "Woven Chaos" (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtlTUU3DlDbk-GhKG6tKl9g)
    • Teaser number 7:
      Either
      - Something happens to Brainwash (@Bart (MC) or
      - Another name reference or
      - "Earth melee builds are probably significant to this update, and might be buffed/reworked to become comparable to spell setups." or
      - "Intelligence might be reworked so that it is no longer an absolute necessity in any spell build." (@Golfbawl)
    • Teaser number 8:
The letters spell "Abyss imbued". Probably another name reference?
So what could this huge update be? Will the item team finally fix defense even though that's not up to the item team? Will stealing finally find some use? What do you think is being worked on?

I will keep this thread updated with the latest teasers, also please post your own speculations below.

Edit: I also added some possible solutions for the teasers.

    Hey, I got mentioned :3
There's been a bit of speculation so far:
So we're at a few possible lines of letters on the grid (none of which I really feel like point to anything), and basically nothing on the Nether Portal and Twilight Tour, aside from maybe the date.
The hard part about the grid is that it's probably not binary code or anything, and probably doesn't have any use until more teasers drop.
I think the 'being unlit' part of the Nether portal is important, and the nether & portal part less so.
And like I said before, the Twilight Tour event doesn't seem to have anything of importance; the date would match up really well with a possible patch date, so I think June 21st is gonna be when this biggest item update ever drops.
Spend an evening at the Woodruff-Fontaine mansion on an exclusive Twilight Tour that will transport you to the gilded age of 19th century Memphis. As the sun sets over Adams Avenue, slip into a bygone era and let yourself be swept away to a time when dinner parties and midnight soirees filled weekly schedules.

Upon arrival, guests will enter through the front doors and be greeted by the magnificent sight of the grand floating staircase and enjoy a light reception in the lavish dining room. As evening sets, stroll the halls of all three floors while listening to docents spill the secrets of the daily lives of two of the most prestigious families in Memphis history.

Space is limited. Purchase your tickets today!
Tickets are available until noon, the day of the scheduled tour, unless tour tickets are sold out.

I want to thank the Item Team for doing this, this is exactly what the community has been wanting for years, small teasers about upcoming updates that are cryptic enough to get us thinking :D Thank you!

Alright, I've been thinking, and here's my theory for the time being.
The grid doesn't hide some weird, scary code; it's a cut-off spreadsheet, and seeing as how there are 10 rows, it could be about dual-elements.
    1. Earth/Thunder
    2. Earth/Water
    3. Earth/Fire
    4. Earth/Air
    5. Thunder/Water
    6. Thunder/Fire
    7. Thunder/Air
    8. Water/Fire
    9. Water/Air
    10. Fire/Air
The columns could be spell/melee/weapons/armor, or something along those lines. Order of dual-elements would be random, I'll see if I can guess what row is what later. The x's would be a clear no, the check a clear yes and the 0 somewhere inbetween. This would be a result of the recent dual-element survey, put in a spreadsheet for clarity.

Next the unlit Nether portal. It symbolizes either the Nether being shut down together with wars recently, or (imo more likely) pvp essentially being dead on Wynn.

The Twilight Tour event is a bit harder to explain, but first, the date (again). But maybe 'Twilight' really means something; maybe a new element to be added (would certainly be 'the biggest item update in no time').

I also really hope there aren't any deep deep codes. Please.

If it is actually a new element, following the current pattern that each skill(minus intel because there are an odd number of elements)has a steady but not-amazing output (strength, defense) and a reverse: a higher output but less reliable (dexterity, agility), that would mean that this would introduce a new skill that affects mana in some way, like maybe x chance when casting a spell for it to cost 1/2 as much or something. So I'm definitely interested if it is!

The chart is cut off, it's meant to say ideas for new common items on the top and left, and the Os mean it's a good common item idea, the check marks mean it's a great common item idea, and the Xs mean it's a bad common item idea. The unlit nether portal means that there is going to be mythics that can only drop when killing somebody in the nether.

And nether portal is shown, so maybe Fire-thunder items will be changed?

Oh yes digging into the meaning of dual-element combos is quite fun. Earth/Air = void (sometimes, you can usually tell whether it's intended by the IDs), Thunder/Air = spirits/ghosts, etc.

(not that any of that helps much in decoding)

Earth-Air also has connections to the desert, as well as nature and nature magic, while Thunder-Water is usually corrupted light or twilight, etc.

Though tbh I think that the element of Air in general has more ghost-based connotations (Kaze, Ivory, Spectre, Shade, Hymn of the Dead); The secondary element, if there is one, just tells of the nature of the spirit. It's not limited to Thunder-Air, which is more associated with weather and speed.

We should really have a thread made about the meanings of each element at this point.

Also, I think we can rule out PvP as a potential point. Even if it does show the nether, not enough people play in the nether and inventory changes in it don't change your inventory in the main game. With JP leaving unexpectedly, it's going to be a while before we get a large code based update, unless he managed to finish revamping the whole nether system in the five months since 1.18

It's a guide for Binding of Isaac; Afterbirth, showing the item 'Eden's Blessing' (also the number 381). The on-screen explanation is '+0.7 tears. Grants random item at the start of every turn.' From what I can gather, the item makes you start with an item next time you have to restart the run, obtained by having defeated a certain boss (Hush) as the character Eden. Here's the wiki page on it.
And I have no clue what it means for the riddle. Eden's Blessing doesn't seem to be anything outside of the game, and I don't expect the 'randomly giving an item' to mean anything item-related. Maybe the number 381 is important?
(Theory time: maybe these teasers aren't as big as we're expecting. Maybe they're teasing new item names, for example: 'The Grid', 'Portalframe', 'Gilded Twilight' and 'Eden's Blessing'. Who knows.)

An idea that popped into my head from this post.
We just got a Binding of Isaac teaser for the next IM update, maybe its not about the Eden's Blessing item but about the game itself, a large part of the game's story is about suicide, hell, the afterlife and purgatory (also regret and sorrow, lonelyness etc. but yeah..) this could definitely reinforce the Fire-Thunder idea, or atleast something along those lines.

I would say it's less that, for example, Thunder/Fire is nether-associated, rather that nether-associated items are Thunder/Fire.
