    Heya everyone,

I started playing Wynncraft again in the past week, however I've been constantly plagued by server kicks that I don't get anywhere else and have persisted through Minecraft, Java and Windows reinstalls as well as on different WiFi/Ethernet networks. I've attached a few below, they generally happen after trying to connect to a world but have kicked me while in lobby before.

I've read that it's a max-chunks issue with Spigot server-side, but I've got no idea what to do except hopelessly connecting again and again hoping for a good connection. The images below show errors that occurred on five consecutive connections, which means there's a bunch of issues my client/the server doesn't like. Not sure what to do but hoping someone has a brainwave to help me out

    Cheers,
    Alexicon1

There is a system on Wynncraft called 'coolness'. The more you spend in the Wynncraft shop, the less kicks you get.

I advice you to buy as many profession XP and speed bombs as possible and tell me when you are throwing them.

otherwise... I have no idea why you are getting kicked. :/

I know that the badly compressed packet exception and the array index out of bounds exception are usually caused by a minecraft 1.13 client trying to connect to a minecraft 1.12 server. Try connecting using 1.12.2. Also if you are using wynntils, either try updating it or removing it entirely, it is a little buggy now that they have changed a lot of things in 1.18.

I'm using 1.12, and I installed a fresh Wynntils yesterday (after I'd had the bug for almost a week), so I've got no idea how the problem is occurring :( thanks though! will retry without wynntils

Now that i think about it, a fresh installation of wynntils and a 1.12 client shouldn’t usually be causing these problems. Could you tell me if you were doing something specific, when it crashes? If so tell me for every error separately what you were doing.

So the errors come in two waves, either it crashes on connection to the lobby (then you get any one of those errors). Or secondly, when you try and connect to a world. If the screen flashes as it changes, you know it's going to give you an error. If "Loading terrain" comes up you're more likely to be able to connect to an actual game world but then you generally crash within 5 seconds. The times I've been able to connect and play for a reasonable amount of time is when I've turned "Server Resource Packs" to Prompt and done that, as the resource pack being pulled from appdata makes it even more likely to crash (however this is like 1/30 as opposed 1/40, not really that likely). None of the above errors have a particular cause, I did the exact same thing 5 times and got 5 different errors.

Alright, lets see what we can do.

    1. Please check if you have the latest version of java installed. While this may seem obvious, some people forgot.

    2. Manually download the resource pack.
You can do this by going to %appdata% then heading to your server resource packs. In there you will find it, I've currently forgotten what it will be named, however just find wynncraft's and zip it.
Make sure the packs actually contents is inside the zip folder, sometimes a zip file will contain the older folder.
Disable wynncraft's resource pack, I hope you know how to do that.

    3. Make sure you have Optfine installed. While its not the source of your issue, it should help.

    4. Lasty go to your minecraft lunches and check the amount of ram and Rom you have deducted to minecraft. Something tells me that's the actually issue. Something there is set to 125, and not 256.
"Make sure your ram is 2k or 4k."

So I updated Java to try and fix it yesterday, so the Java is current :) I did the same as you suggested and loaded the resource pack manually, that had no help. I've got Forge running with Optifine, and I've checked with that and with vanilla MC and the same errors pop up. I've currently allocated 4GB of RAM to Minecraft (I have 16GB) and have had no success :)

1 is incorrect - you need to have java 8 installed. java 10/11 actually causes more problems to start with, as barely anyone supports them right now. Stay on java 8.
2 i think that resource packs should have nothing to do with misreading of packets - resource packs are client side, and he already tried disabling them
3 - optifine might help, but it wont fix packet reading problems
4 - this is not the issue. Packet sizes/thresholds dont have anything to do with ram.

@Alexicon1 i think i might have a solution - since it appears that your minecraft installation might have been messed with, either by you or by some mods, try removing the 1.12.2 minecraft installation in %appdata% and reinstall the jar using the launcher. if you dont know how to do this, ask me.

edit: also try to use vanilla minecraft, just to see if forge is somehow causing problems (there are some mods that inject their code into forge, for certain reasons. Using vanilla should help for now).

I'm on Java 8 version 211? That's fine right? I removed the install in %appdata% and reinstalled it no sweat, same errors keep popping up. I'm using vanilla atm but no success. I want to say it's server-side but I've honestly got no idea at this stage

It’s definitely not server side. If it was server side everybody would be experiencing it. A single person just cannot be the target of improper packet compression.

Anyways, Salted or Crunkle would be the most help here, as I'm going to guess they usually manage server issues, try asking them for help.

The latest version of java 8.
The only reason I suggested the texture pack thing is because he said the few times he made it in, he crashed when the server was attempting to load the resource pack.
