Music To The Sky! (letvus Airbase Theme) Remake

I made an account just so I could share this. It's the first time I've ever remade a song like this before, and I figured I may as well post it—even if I don't think it's too great. But hey, maybe someone on here will like it.

Ok so I don’t mean to be a music critic (even though it’s my job irl) but I wanna say this for next time: I think that in the quite melodies that you got there you need to have a bass line for. When the chords are unclear it is hard to understand where the melody is going.
Also towards the end, the crash (on the drumset) was a little over used. Keep in mind that this piece was not meant to be a march.

 

If you're actually a music critic that's pretty neat, sounds like it would be a fun job. I agree with what you're saying though, the crashes could probably be toned down a bit. I did try to make them a little less prominent in my other remake, and I think it sounds better that way.

 

This is pretty cool, what software did you use? If you don't mind, I'm interested in music production as well and was wondering what I should try out. I know about FL Studio and obviously Garageband haha. Good stuff!

 

I used LMMS. It probably isn't the greatest software out there, but I just wanted to start with something free to see what I could do.
